Abstract: Methods and systems for auto detecting and auto switching antennas in a multi-antenna FM transmit/receive system are disclosed and may include detecting when an external antenna may be coupled to an external port of the wireless device and utilizing the external antenna for transmitting and/or receiving FM signals. The decoupling of an external antenna from an external port may be detected, which may cause the FM radio transmitter/receiver to be configured to transmit and/or receive FM signals utilizing antennas internal to the wireless device. One or more test signals, which may include AC signals, may be generated within the chip for detecting whether an external antenna may be coupled to an external port. A reflected signal from an external port may be measured and compared to a prestored value corresponding to a reflection due to an open circuit at the one or more external ports of the wireless device.

Abstract: A liquid phase process is disclosed for producing halogenated alkane adducts of the formula CAR1R2CBR3R4 (where A, B, R1, R2, R3, and R4 are as defined in the specification) which involves contacting a corresponding halogenated alkane, AB, with a corresponding olefin, CR1R2?CR3R4 in a dinitrile or cyclic carbonate ester solvent which divides the reaction mixture into two liquid phases and in the presence of a catalyst system containing (i) at least one catalyst selected from monovalent and divalent copper; and optionally (ii) a promoter selected from aromatic or aliphatic heterocyclic compounds which contain at least one carbon-nitrogen double bond in the heterocyclic ring. When hydrochlorofluorocarbons are formed, the chlorine content may be reduced by reacting the hydrochlorofluorocarbons with HF. New compounds disclosed include CF3CF2CCl2CH2CCl3, CF3CCl2CH2CH2Cl and CF3CCl2CH2CHClF. These compounds are useful as intermediates for producing hydrofluorocarbons.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide methods and systems for determining hydration of an article and/or a person. The physical and/or electrical properties of a device in the absorbent article may be altered by hydration received in the absorbent article. The alteration of the physical or electrical properties may indicate the amount of hydration in the absorbent article. Furthermore, a time period for receiving the hydration in the absorbent article may also be determined. The hydration of the person may be determined based on a fluid output rate from the person computed using the amount of hydration output from the person and the time period for receiving the hydration.

Abstract: A shutter assembly having a foam insert or core enveloped by a cementitious shell is provided with integrated spaced and opposed top and bottom hanger members that allow the shutter assembly to be mounted to an exterior wall of a dwelling or other structures via spaced and opposed brackets affixed to the exterior wall. The shutter assembly can be mounted to an exterior wall of a dwelling or other structure by selectively engaging the top and bottom hanger members with corresponding top and bottom bracket members mounted to the exterior wall of the dwelling or other structure.

Abstract: Secondary carpet backings woven in a flat weave construction from warp tapes and multifilament picks with 50 to about 100% theoretical coverage in the warp but less than full effective coverage and average pick counts of 10 to 20 per inch impart dimensional stability and high peel strength in carpets incorporating the backings and facilitate robust drying rates in manufacture of carpets.

Abstract: A method for call conferencing is provided. An event is detected when a caller is unable to join an established conference call, because a maximum number of conference participants associated with a conference bridge used for the conference call are currently participating in the conference call. A first audio message is played to the conference participants in response to the detected event.

Abstract: An oil burning torch having a fuel reservoir, a vertical support pole supporting the fuel reservoir, a dish-shaped wick holder resting on said fuel reservoir, the wick holder having a centrally located wick holding aperture supporting a wick. The wick aperture is located at the lower center thereof and opening into the fuel reservoir. The wick is protected from side winds while burning within the dish-shape wick holder below the circumferential rim. The fuel reservoir is generally cylindrical in shape, having a bottom wall, a sidewall, and an upper rim, the dish-shaped wick holder being supported by the rim thereof resting on the upper rim of the reservoir, the wick extending downward into the oil in the reservoir. A lid is provided having a horizontal circumferential rim corresponding to the circumferential rim of the wick for extinguishing the torch and covering said wick holder and reservoir during periods of nonuse.

Abstract: A two-layer secondary carpet backing including a woven scrim layer and a fibrous layer is described. The woven scrim layer is characterized as having a low open area and a flat weave. The two-layer secondary backing is capable of having a non-abrasive, textile back surface. The secondary carpet backing is also capable of having a construction that permits high carpet manufacturing speeds due to high air permeability and is capable of providing high dimensional stability, seam strength, and delamination strength to tufted carpets made therefrom.

Abstract: A Web-based call routing management workstation application which allows authorized customers to control toll free routing and monitor call center status. An architecture including one or more web servers located in a firewalled demilitarized zone (DMZ) as communications medium between the customer workstations at the customer sites and the enterprise back-end applications providing the call routing management services, provides a secure infrastructure for accessing the enterprise applications via the otherwise insecure public Internet. The present invention enables creation and management of call by call routing rules by a customer with a workstation having an Internet access and a supported Web browser. The customized rules may be tested and/or debugged via the Web-enabled workstation, using a debugger/tester which runs the routing rules under a simulated environment.

Abstract: A method is performed to provide a multi-functional user interface on a work machine for displaying suggested corrective action. The process includes receiving status information associated with the work machine and analyzing the status information to determine an abnormal condition. The process also includes displaying a warning message on the display device indicating the abnormal condition and determining one or more corrective actions to handle the abnormal condition. Further, the process includes determining an appropriate corrective action among the one or more corrective actions and displaying a recommendation message on the display device reflecting the appropriate corrective action. The process may also include displaying a list including the remaining one or more corrective actions on the display device to provide alternative actions to an operator.

Abstract: A cellular phone contains a pedometer feature operating from a logging of repeated acceleration measurements, and captures body movements in a similar way as a stand alone pedometer. The acceleration measurements may be taken from a dedicated accelerometer, or from an accelerometer otherwise already integrated into the cell phone for use by any number of other features, including gaming, phone off-hook detection, etc. The pedometer feature may be integrated into a cell phone that includes an accelerometer for other purposes. For instance, in such a cell phone that already includes an accelerometer, a software applet may be downloaded over a data link to the phone to be activated and operate as a pedometer in addition (or instead of) the use of the accelerometer for its original purposes.

Abstract: Soybean volatile compounds, soybean aphid-induced volatile compounds and soybean aphid sex pheromones are semiochemicals of the invention used to suppress soybean aphid population. Methyl salicylate is an embodiment of a soybean aphid-induced volatile compound useful in the invention. Benzaldehyde is an embodiment of a soybean host plant volatile compound useful in the invention. Also useful as sex pheromones are nepetalactol and nepetalactone. The compounds may be blended in a preferred embodiment.

Abstract: A method is provided for testing multiple elements of a work machine, including a control system, a component, a sub-component that is influenced by operations of the component, and a sensor that monitors a characteristic of the sub-component. In one embodiment, the method is performed by the control system and includes sending a command to the component to adjust a first parameter associated with an operation of the component. Also, the method includes detecting a sensor signal from the sensor reflecting a second parameter associated with a characteristic of the sub-component and determining whether the second parameter is acceptable based on the command. The control system may diagnose at least one of the elements of the work machine when the second parameter of the sub-component is not acceptable.

Abstract: A method and apparatus implementing an enhanced protocol between an I2C master and an I2C slave. In various embodiments the invention permits greater addressability space and high priority access to the slave device. The enhanced protocol is implemented by the addition of command code data being transmitted which is recognized through an interface circuit inside the slave device. The invention provides an I2C solution for accessing high priority address space with one command byte, medium priority space with two command bytes and low priority space with three command bytes.

Abstract: The present invention features a playing card shuffling device, which through the use of a small image capturing means, captures an image of the face value of each card and stores the image in memory. This image is sorted in the format of a bitmap image. The operator of the machine would be able to recall through the use of a key pad, the images of the cards that comprised the individual hands in the previous game. This feature allows for verification of a winning hand after a game has been completed. Thereby, a quick recheck of hands before paying a winning hand is performed. The face value of each card is determined by character recognition software. These card values would be stored in memory for archival access for use in monitoring the randomness of the game and determining the number of winning hands.
