The system has narrow coils which allow excellent visibility to and from the subject being treated. The method of the invention provides for the heuristic adjustment of the various system parameters to ensure adequate uniformity, volume, and strength of the magnetic field. To facilitate comfort and convenience dining extended periods of treatment, the system also has various types of rusting surfaces within the volume of space containing the uniform magnetic field.
