  • Publication number: 20210189344
Abstract: This invention describes new methods for the mobilization of human cells such as hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow, and the subsequent collection of such cells from the peripheral blood of deceased donors. These methods produce quantities of hematopoietic stem cells that can be used in a multitude of possible applications without harming the deceased donor or the recovery of the deceased donor's organs for solid organ transplantation. The methods involve the administration of one or more mobilizing agents to mobilize bone marrow cells into the peripheral blood cells followed by the collection of cells via apheresis.

  • Publication number: 20210180007
Abstract: Disclosed herein are engineered P. putida KT2440 co-expressing PETase and MHETase enzymes that selectively degrades PET into monomers, ethylene glycol and terephthalate (TPA). In another embodiment, disclosed herein are methods for making and using a highly efficient EG metabolizing P. putida KT2440 strain. Given that native P. putida does not have a TPA metabolic pathway, nor the proteins to transport TPA into the cell, the next metabolic engineering challenge for developing synthetic P. putida strain to plastic upcycling was enabling TPA catabolism in P. putida KT2440. TPA transporters and catabolic pathway have been characterized in several microorganisms including Comamonas sp. strain E6 and Rhodococcus jostii RHA1.

  • Patent number: 10986678
Abstract: A Device to Device (D2D) user equipment (UE) is configured to support synchronization in a D2D network. The D2D UE includes an antenna configured to communicate via a D2D communication. The D2D UE also includes processing circuitry configured to enter a communication Mode 2 when certain conditions are met. The certain conditions include: when a first timer (T310) for detecting radio link failure is running, a second timer (T311) for initiating the connection reestablishment is running, or a third timer (T301) for requesting connection reestablishment is running. In communication Mode 2, the D2D UE, on its own, selects resources from resource pool(s) to transmit D2D data and D2D control information. The processing circuitry further configured to exit the communication Mode 2 and enter a communication Mode 1 when the certain condition is no longer met. In communication Mode 1, the D2D UE uses resources configured by another station.

  • Patent number: 10965412
Abstract: Coordinate multi-point (CoMP) transmission is facilitated by resolving collisions between feedback reporting. Based upon the conditions within the network, collision resolution may be by dropping a channel report during a subframe, multiplexing channel reports from a plurality of user equipment, compressing channel reports from a plurality of user equipment, and combined reporting, either through joint reports or by using carrier aggregation, for conditions between a user equipment and a plurality of transmission points. New signaling and reporting formats facilitate selection of a collision resolution suitable for current network conditions.

Abstract: A hollow core photonic bandgap optical fibre comprises: a cladding comprising capillaries in a hexagonal array and a hollow core formed by excluding a hexagonal group of nineteen capillaries from the centre of the hexagonal array. The core is inflated. A core size ratio is 1.26 or above, defined as a ratio of the core diameter to the cladding diameter normalized to the ratio of the core diameter to the cladding diameter in an undistorted hexagonal array; a first ring ratio is between 0.55 and 2.50, defined as a ratio of the length of radially aligned struts separating the capillaries of the first ring to the length of a strut in an undistorted hexagonal array; and a core node spacing is between 0.60 and 1.90, where defined as a ratio of a strut length around the core of a largest corner capillary and a strut length around the core of a smallest side capillary. The fabrication method comprises four different pressures for the core, corner capillary, side capillary and cladding.
