  • Patent number: 11734147
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing file systems over a network. A core specification that defines characteristics of a portion of a file system and parameters may be provided. The characteristics may include one or more storage device characteristics. And, the parameters may include one or more of a cluster size, or a protection level. File system models may be generated based on the core specification and the parameters. Each file system model may correspond to a file system that conforms to a core specification and specific values for the parameters. A simulation engine may be employed to provide simulation results based on the file system models. Deployment models may be generated based on the simulation results. The deployment models may be employed to provision file systems that conform to the file system performance characteristics associated with its corresponding deployment model.

  • Patent number: 11722150
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to error resistant logging. A write-ahead log (WAL) for preserving a verifiable record of file system activity may be provided such that the WAL may include a sequence of log blocks that each may include a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value of a next adjacent log block in the WAL. In response to executing a file system operation associated with payload data, further actions may be performed, including: generating log blocks based on the payload data; generating a log segment that includes the log blocks; modifying a portion of the contents of a head-block of the log segment such that the modified head-block of the log segment has a CRC value that matches a CRC value of a tail-block of the WAL; copying the contents of the modified head-block of the log segment into the tail-block of the WAL.

  • Patent number: 11669255
Abstract: A file system with distributed resource caching that includes cache volumes and agents that may be associated with clients of the file system may be provided. A cache allocation for each agent may be determined based on a capacity of the cache volumes and a number of the agents such that each cache allocation is associated with tokens that each represents a reserved portion of free space in the cache volumes. Storage jobs may be provided to the agents. Data associated with the storage jobs may be stored in the cache volumes. The cache allocation for each agent may be reduced based on the data stored for each agent.

  • Patent number: 11594261
Abstract: A modular data storage tape library includes a modular frame having a form factor similar to other types of computing racks. The modular data storage tape library includes a hermetically sealed enclosure within the modular frame and a cooling portion within the modular frame. Data storage tapes, data storage drives and robotics for moving the data storage tapes are included within the hermetically sealed enclosure. A heat exchanger transfers heat from the hermetically sealed enclosure to the cooling portion outside of the sealed enclosure through a boundary of the hermetically sealed enclosure without introducing air from the data center into the hermetically sealed enclosure. Because air is neither introduced nor removed from the hermetically sealed enclosure, humidity fluctuations are minimal, if existent, and contaminants are prevented from entering the hermetically sealed enclosure, thus increasing the life spans of the data storage tapes included in the hermetically sealed enclosure.

  • Patent number: 11552803
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for provisioning components. For instance, a component may be initially provisioned by a first system. To initially provision the component, the component may receive first data representing a uniform device type, a device identifier, a serial number, and/or a first certificate chain. The component may then store the first data in memory. Additionally, the component may be provisioned using a second system. To provision the component, the component may receive second data representing a product device type, a code, and a second certification chain. The second data received during the second provisioning may be associated with one more capabilities of a device. The component may then store the second data in the memory.

  • Patent number: 11553627
Abstract: A sensor may detect a coolant leak at or near an appliance that is slidable between a seated position and an ejected position relative to a rack. In the seated position, a coolant supply line may be coupled with a conduit of the appliance to convey coolant past the appliance. A biaser can bias the appliance toward the ejected position, and a latch may secure the appliance in a seated position against the biaser. A releaser can release the latch in response to coolant leak detection by the sensor and permit the biaser to move the appliance toward the ejected position, for example, which may cause the conduit to become disconnected from the coolant supply line to cut off flow to the leak.

  • Publication number: 20220406215
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for providing dietary recommendations to a user is provided. In this method palate preferences, physiological data and dietary constraints are received for a user. This data is used to generate a nutritionally optimized meal plan based upon macronutrient and micronutrient requirements. The optimized meal plan is cross referencing against the palate preferences and dietary constraints to identify dietary elements within the optimized meal plan that are in conflict with the palate preferences and dietary constraints. These conflicting ingredients/dishes may be substituted for with meals that meet the same dietary requirements. The system outputs the meal plan and recipes for the meal plan to the user. The user then leverages this information in their daily food intake, and provides feedback to the system regarding their compliance with the meal plan. Two or more nutritional scores are generated for the user based upon this feedback.

  • Patent number: 11347699
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a file system engine that provides a file system that includes a plurality of blocks on a file storage tier with portion of the blocks associated with a cache storage tier. A cache engine provides heat extents that include a heat score and a run length value such that the heat extents are represent activities associated with the blocks. Heat extents associated with file system activities are determined based on a position of the blocks that corresponds with the run length values of the heat extents and sectors on the file storage tier. Heat scores associated with the heat extents may be modified based on the activities and distribution models to conform the heat extents with the distribution models. Blocks associated with heat scores that are less than a threshold value provided by the distribution models may be disassociated from the cache storage tier.

  • Patent number: 11294718
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing file systems over a network. Jobs may be provided to a storage computer in a file system. Control models may be associated with the jobs. Scores may be generated based on the control models. Each job may be associated with a score provided by its associated control model. And, each job that may be behind its corresponding schedule may be associated with a higher score value than each other job that may be either on its corresponding other schedule or ahead of its corresponding other schedule. Commands may be selected for execution based on the commands being associated with a job that may be associated with the higher score value that may be greater than score values associated with other jobs. The jobs may be ranked based on the updated scores. Subsequent commands may be selected and executed based on the ranking of the jobs.

  • Patent number: 11225046
Abstract: Embodiments of a system and a method for manufacturing a gypsum board can be used to produce a gypsum board having at least one perforated cover sheet via a cover sheet perforator system. The cover sheet perforator system can include a perforator roller is disposed downstream of a forming station along a machine direction, a roller support frame for rotatably supporting the perforator roller such that its rotational axis extends along the cross-machine direction, and a motor arranged with the perforator roller to rotate the perforator roller about the rotational axis. The drive motor can be adapted to rotate the perforator roller with a tangential speed substantially equal to the line speed to produce a series of perforation holes in an upwardly-facing cover sheet as the gypsum board moves past the perforator roller.

  • Publication number: 20210319861
Abstract: Electronic health records may be organized into problem-oriented medical records. Generating problem-oriented medical record may be based on problem and target relations. Problem and target relations may be determined from a knowledge base. An initial knowledge base may be determined from medical data sets and annotated problem and target relations. The initial knowledge base may be completed to establish new problem target relations using a trained model and/or site embeddings, data statistics, and combined embeddings. The completed knowledge base may be used in generation of problem-oriented medical records.
