  • Publication number: 20240116283
Abstract: Embodiments provide for the manipulation of fabric items using a roller. A fabric item is engaged by a roller. Rotation of the roller while traversing the roller across the fabric item progressively lifts the fabric item onto the roller. In an example, the fabric item is held on the roller by applying a vacuum via the roller. In an example the roller is used to deposit one portion of the fabric item onto another portion of the fabric item in a joining process. In an example, the roller is used to deposit the fabric item onto another fabric item in a joining process.

  • Publication number: 20080016835
Abstract: A nestable frame for planar air filters or other screen-like planar structures. The nestable frame provides all of the following desirable properties at once: 1. Simple manufacturing and assembly process, 2. Simple design, 3. Enhanced structural rigidity, 4. Significant space-savings during storage and transport, and 5. Simple handling. The filter frame comprises an upper and a lower frame portion with a first leg each, where the peripheral edge of the filter media is clampingly engaged between the first leg of the upper frame portion and the first leg of the lower frame portion. From the first leg, both frame portions extend outwardly with a second leg at an obtuse angle. The frame portions are connected at the outer ends of their second legs with a connecting leg. Alternative embodiments contain straight connection legs at different angles, curved connection legs or a multitude of connection legs, oriented to the outside of the frame or collapsed inwardly into the frame, for various purposes.

Simple manufacturing and assembly process, 2. Simple design, 3. Enhanced structural rigidity, 4. Significant space-savings during storage and transport, and 5. Simple handling. Preferably, the filter frame comprises an upper and a lower frame portion with a first leg each, where the peripheral edge of the filter media is clampingly engaged between the first leg of the upper frame portion and the first leg of the lower frame portion. From the first leg, the upper frame portion extends outwardly with at least two legs folded into a vertically flipped V. The lower frame portion consists of at least two full and a third partial leg, and may or may not have additional legs extending outwardly, in parallel direction and intimately connected to the legs of the upper frame portion.

  • Publication number: 20070204573
Abstract: A filter having a generally rectangular nestable frame member, said frame member includes an upper frame portion and a lower frame portion. Each frame portion comprises: a first leg; and a second leg extending obtusely from the first leg, with the obtuse angle between the first and second legs of the upper frame portion being smaller than the obtuse angle between the first and second legs of the lower frame portion. The first legs of the upper and lower frame portions are generally parallel to one another, and securely engaging the peripheral edges of the filter medium in-between. The opposing surfaces of the second leg of the upper frame portion and the second leg of the lower frame portion define a hollow space in-between. The filter medium material is attached to the frame, by adhesion clamping, or any other suitable engagement means.

  • Patent number: 5782944
Abstract: A moisture resistant air filter has a generally planar air permeable filter media with an upstream and downstream surface and a peripheral edge. A frame surrounds the filter media peripheral edge providing an inner peripheral frame surface to which the filter media peripheral edge is attached. The upstream and downstream panels are integrally formed with the frame, the upstream and downstream panels having large openings therethrough. The frame and the panels are formed of paper board of about 0.016 to 0.060 caliper and coated with polyethylene or polypropylene.
