  • Publication number: 20220287603
Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided that generate in vivo maps of oxygenation measurements of biological tissue. These may include surgical instruments and stand-alone imaging systems with incorporated oxygen sensing capability. Oxygenation maps can be determined via fluorescent or phosphorescent lifetime imaging of an injectable probe with an oxygen-dependent optical response. Probe configuration and methods and apparatus of injecting the probe into the tissue are provided. Methods and apparatus for temperature compensation of temperature-dependent lifetime measurements are provided to improve oxygenation measurement accuracy. Oxygen maps may be registered with visible light images to assist in assessing tissue viability or localize anomalies in the tissue.

  • Patent number: 9935998
Abstract: A wireless apparatus and system automatically processes digital “messages” to a remote system at a predefined destination address. Initial transmission occurs via a wireless network, and the apparatus process allows the simultaneous capture of new messages while transmissions are occurring. The destination address may correspond to an e-mail account, or may correspond to a remote server from which the message can be efficiently processed and/or further distributed. In the latter case, data packaged with the digital message is used to control processing of the message at the server, based on a combination of pre-defined system and user options. Secured Internet access to the server allows flexible user access to system parameters for configuration of message handling and distribution options, including the option to build named distribution lists that are downloaded to the wireless apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7934204
Abstract: A partitioning technique utilized by a translator to divide the subject code space into regions, referred to hereafter as partitions, where each partition contains a distinct set of basic blocks of subject code and corresponding target code. The partitioning technique divides the translator's representation of subject code and subject code translations into non-overlapping regions of subject memory. In this manner, when the subject program modifies subject code, only those partitions actually affected by the self-modifying code need be discarded and all translations in unaffected partitions can be kept. This partitioning technique is advantageous in limiting the amount of target code that must be retranslated in response to self-modifying code operation. In another process, the partitioning technique allows multithreaded subject programs that also involve self-modifying code to perform code modification in a thread-safe manner.

  • Patent number: 7685579
Abstract: An adjustable precision exception handling technique is providing for handling exceptions encountered during translation of subject code to target code at varying levels of precision, depending upon the particular type of exception encountered. As an exception signal is detected by the translator, the state of the subject processor is captured at a precision determined to be sufficient for the detected exception.

  • Publication number: 20080263342
Abstract: Described is method and apparatus for handling exception signals in combination particularly with the dynamic conversion of binary code executable by a one computing platform into binary code executed instead by another computing platform. An exception handling unit selectively handles some exception signals with respect to a target state and handles others with respect to a subject state derived from the target state. Signal handling sub-units are arranged to process the exception signal with respect to the target state and output a request either to return to execution or to pass on the exception signal. A delivery path selection unit is arranged to determine a delivery path of the exception signal to a selected group of the plurality of signal handling sub-units. A signal control unit is arranged to deliver the exception signal in turn to each of the selected group of signal handling sub-units.

  • Publication number: 20050197848
Abstract: The system supports special needs customer at an airport. A controller processes request, flight and personnel data, generates assignments, and distributes messages. Workstations register available personnel, import/export customer requests and flight information, edit additional customer and flight data, and authorize or overwrite dispatch decisions. Handheld devices provide customer registration, service recording and location registration, and communicate service instructions and activity planning. The controller receives and analyzes data based upon a set of conditions that determine the status of any service request, the location where service is needed, the type of assistance needed, its priority, and the destination of the service. Upon arrival at the destination, or, based upon a set of predetermined conditions, the controller analyzes current conditions, determines the next set of requests and assignments, and provides information needed to support the next assignments.

  • Publication number: 20040201486
Abstract: A solid state crossing controller for a railroad crossing signal system with two independent outputs for controlling illumination of lamps in the signal system share a common neutral or return wire, with sensing of a common neutral or return line shared by the two independent outputs to determine any loss of the neutral line. When a failure has been detected in the neutral line, the controller modifies the voltages for the lamps in the signaling system for better illumination of the lamps during the failure condition, such as to the highest voltage available from a battery in the system. Upon detection of the failure in the neutral line, the controller may provide a call or message that there is a failure in the system that is in need of repair. If the failure in the neutral line is intermittent, the controller will resume normal operation after that train, has cleared the crossing. However, a call or message that a failure has occurred in the neutral line is provided.

  • Patent number: 6665868
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for optimizing recognition of presentation space data. Presentation space data is sent from a legacy host application to a workstation. A workstation application monitors arrival of multiple predetermined presentation space definitions, and invokes an appropriate target object to process each recognized presentation space of interest. Prioritization techniques are used to optimize the recognition process, whereby higher priority definitions are processed first. A time of day heuristic is defined, which influences priority of presentation space recognition according to the time of day in which specific presentation space data typically arrives at the user's workstation. Priority pools may be used to provide a desired granularity of priority. Priority may be learned dynamically by the implementation, and may be initialized explicitly (or defaulted). Priority of a definition may be demoted if an inactivity timer expires.

  • Patent number: 6519605
Abstract: A technique, system, and computer program for run-time translation of procedurally-oriented Emulator High Level Language Application Programming Interface (EHLLAPI) calls into object-based host access calls (such as those provided with IBM's Host Access Control Library or the Open Host Interface Objects under development by the IETF), without requiring changes to the workstation EHLLAPI applications. This translation, in addition to generating the appropriate method invocation, reconciles the operational differences between EHLLAPI's sequential function call model and the event-driven approach used in the object-oriented model.
