  • Publication number: 20030111941
Abstract: A low cost cabinet pedestal wherein at least the top and side walls are formed from a single piece of material without the need for any additional stiffening members such as vertical rails for drawer slides, or any other internal strengthening members. The bottom of the low cost pedestal can also be formed from the same single sheet of material and a base panel can be added for rigidity. The top, bottom, and side walls can have flanged members at the edges thereof, and overlapping portions of the flanged members at corners of the pedestal can be rigidly joined together to provide increased stiffness to the pedestal. The side walls of the pedestal can be provided with integrally formed connection portions for the direct attachment of horizontal drawer slides.

  • Patent number: 6394564
Abstract: An overhead storage unit for a modular open office system is provided. The storage unit can be either a freestanding unit or a panel mounted unit. The present invention provides easy to assemble units utilizing a minimum of different components for inexpensive manufacturing and ease of construction. In the freestanding unit, identical end panels are used; whereas in the panel mounted unit complementary right and left end panels are formed. In either unit, the shelves and doors are of identical shape. When assembled, engagement tabs on the panel mounted unit prevent the storage unit from being inadvertently removed.

  • Patent number: 5921040
Abstract: A freestanding panel assembly for a modular office system is provided. A support frame includes top and bottom horizontal rails rigidly secured to a pair of vertical supports. A trough is attached to the top horizontal rail to provide a first cable pathway and a pair of feet are attached to the bottom horizontal rail. The feet provide a ledge to support a panel skin attached to the frame and define a second cable pathway for the panel assembly. The feet also include a leveling means. In a second embodiment, intermediate panel skin supports are attached to the frame, and define a third cable pathway therebetween. A top cover plate, bottom cover plate and beltway cover plate are removably attached to the frame. In this way, redesign and reconfiguration of the office panels are easily accomplished.
