  • Patent number: 11152138
Abstract: A coaxial cable (10) includes an outer barrier (12, 14, 16) that seals the coaxial cable from air and protects the cable's conductors (18, 20) form oxidation in a fire. Such an outer protective barrier may include a fire retardant tape. A dielectric (22) separates the conductors and may comprise a ceramic (23) embedded in a dielectric material (25), or ceramic beads in a braided ceramic mesh.

Inventors: Asaad Elsaadani, Mihirraj Joshi, Joel Cacopardo, Erhard Mahlandt, Thomas McKeon, Yin-Shing Chong
  • Patent number: 11117009
Abstract: A versatile, multi-purpose and portable continuous loop exercise apparatus designed so as to enable users thereof to exercise multiple body parts through resistive training. The unique continuously looped structure enables users to perform various exercises. The continuous loop exercise apparatus may be utilized in combination with the floor, on the chair, or can be placed on a table or countertop without the requirement to reconfigure or reassemble the product. The one-piece curved design allows users with different body builds to perform the same exercises appropriately by changing the holding user-to-apparatus contact positions rather than by adjusting the dimensions of the equipment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 1, 2019
Date of Patent: September 14, 2021
Inventors: Donald Parker, Daniel Rennecker, Steven Schennum, Zachary Burchman, Thomas McKeon

  • Patent number: 9299482
Abstract: A hybrid cable for telecommunications systems is disclosed. The hybrid cable may include a plurality of fiber-optic cables and power cables extending within an armor member and an outer jacket in a main body portion of the hybrid cable, and extending outside of the armor member and the outer jacket in a termination portion of the hybrid cable. Shielded tube assemblies may be attached to the power cables in the termination portion to provide electrical shielding to the power cables in the termination portion of the hybrid cable. The shielded tube assemblies may be attached to the armor member to electrically ground the shielded tube assemblies. A method of constructing a hybrid cable is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7195901
Abstract: The gene for the diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT) from Ricinus communis L., the castor plant, has been isolated, cloned, and used to transform other plants and micro-organisms. When the gene is expressed in a heterologous system, the corresponding DGAT protein is active and shows unusual and selective action for hydroxylated fatty acyl glycerides. DGAT carries out the final step in castor oil biosynthesis, and is believed to be largely responsible for many of the attributes of castor oil, making it an excellent candidate for industrial uses. This invention makes it possible to enhance the oil-producing capacity of other plants and micro-organisms.

  • Publication number: 20060171142
Abstract: A flashlight having a non-conductive housing, an electric power source, a light source, and two nodes disposed on external surfaces of the non-conductive housing, wherein the flashlight is adapted to allow electric current to flow from the power source through the light source when both of the two nodes are abutted by a user's hand, activating the flashlight without further manipulation required by the user. Inadvertent activation of the flashlight is minimized by including a protruding rib between the nodes or by disposing the nodes on different sides of the flashlight.

  • Patent number: 6620986
Abstract: The invention is a method of Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of castor. The flower bud of an intact castor plant is wounded and Agrobacterium comprises the transgene is infiltrated into the wound. The flower bud is allowed to get seed, and seed comprising the transgene is grown into a transformed castor plant.
