  • Publication number: 20240118226
Abstract: A differential scanning calorimeter includes a temperature-controlled heat source and a sensor arrangement with sample- and reference-side pan support regions and measurement regions. Measurement region sensor(s) output a differential heat flow signal representative of a difference between heat flowing across the sample- and reference-side measurement regions and a sample- and reference-side local heater arrangement. A sample and reference pan are arranged on the sample and reference-side pan support region, respectively. A volume surrounding the pans is filled with a measuring gas. A steady state situation of a desired temperature is created, and once reached, heating power is applied to one of the pan support regions using the respective local heater arrangement. A second calibration factor is determined based on a ratio of a differential heat flow signal (U) and a differential heating power.

  • Patent number: 11956200
Abstract: A system and method for improving the download time of emails in an environment in which a server distributes emails to persons working in close proximity to each other. When these persons receive multi-recipient emails intended for several or all of these persons, the server distributing the emails delivers the multi-recipient emails to the first one of the persons who logged on to read his or her emails on his or her personal computer, for distribution to the other persons over a personal area network. This reduces the download time for the persons downloading their emails at a subsequent time.

Each of the gripping legs include a tip portion distal of a fixation portion, an actuation portion adjacent to and proximal of the tip portion, and a flex portion between the actuation and fixation portions. The actuation portions contact the plunger when the plunger is in an extended, distal position. The fixation portions are rigidly mounted to the carrier. The actuation and tip portions are distal from the carrier. When no force is transferred from the plunger to the gripping legs, the tip portions converge in a proximal-distal direction of the gripping appliance.

  • Publication number: 20240096001
Abstract: Provided are machine learning models that generate geometry-free neural scene representations through efficient object-centric novel-view synthesis. In particular, one example aspect of the present disclosure provides a novel framework in which an encoder model (e.g., an encoder transformer network) processes one or more RGB images (with or without pose) to produce a fully latent scene representation that can be passed to a decoder model (e.g., a decoder transformer network). Given one or more target poses, the decoder model can synthesize images in a single forward pass. In some example implementations, because transformers are used rather than convolutional or MLP networks, the encoder can learn an attention model that extracts enough 3D information about a scene from a small set of images to render novel views with correct projections, parallax, occlusions, and even semantics, without explicit geometry.
