Publication number: 20240190028Abstract: A blade retainer includes a base portion and a locking arm. The base portion includes a side wall and a guide member. The side wall and the guide member form a boundary of a receiving channel for slidably receiving and removably retaining a blade. The locking arm includes an overhang portion on a first end of the locking arm and a retainer portion on the second end of the locking arm. The overhang portion is coupled to the base portion and extends across the receiving channel. The retainer portion removably engages a notch of the blade. During installation of the blade, a leading edge of the blade passes the overhang portion prior to contacting the retainer portion, the blade deflects the locking arm out of the receiving channel, and the locking arm resiliently returns to the receiving channel and the retainer portion engages the notch of the blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2022Publication date: June 13, 2024Inventors: Jasmine Trivedi, Daniel Newman, Thomas Marcincavage

Publication number: 20230127154Abstract: A portable, fold-up bath bench for common alcove bathtubs has a stepped-down booster seat attached in front of the bench to assist people as they lower and raise themselves within the tub. The bench is pivotally attached to the rear rim of the tub; resting on the side walls of the tub in the down position, or standing up against the abutting wall in the raised position. The booster seat provides an intermediate seat midway between the bench and the tub floor, thereby making it easier to lower and lift yourself in the tub. When you are seated on the floor of the tub, the booster seat folds back against the rear wall of the tub, allowing you to stretch out, with full use of the tub. This device is a simple, self-assist mechanism which operates without any ancillary-power source.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2021Publication date: April 27, 2023Inventor: Alfred Thomas Newman

Patent number: 9984914Abstract: A carrier tape (300) with a continuous channel (310) is proposed instead of the individual separate embossed pockets (110) prevalent in conventional carrier tapes (100). The continuous channel (310) reduces or even eliminates small bridge problem typically associated with the conventional carrier tapes (100). The proposed carrier tape (300) can include dividers (330) and cutouts (340) to accommodate the devices (205) with minimum pitch without sacrificing corner relief. A cover tape (450) can be included to seal the devices (205) below the top surface of the devices (205). Further, the floor (316) of the continuous channel (310) can be lined with an adhesive (560).Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2016Date of Patent: May 29, 2018Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventor: Anthony Thomas Newman

Patent number: 8789801Abstract: A symmetrical, balanced receptacle for storing, displaying or transporting goods, materials, people, plants or animals is suspended from a double-axis gimbal mounted on a framework. The receptacle is attached to the gimbal by adjustable bearings and a locking mechanism holds the receptacle in various positions, tilted forward or back, and swiveled to one side or the other. When the receptacle is unlocked, gravity holds it level, which is especially useful when the device is used to hold or transport cargo on sloping ground, turbulent water or shifting air currents. The framework may be stationary or attached to a wheeled vehicle, water craft, aircraft or other means of transport.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2012Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Inventor: Alfred Thomas Newman

Patent number: 7533202Abstract: High-speed reliable parallel data transmission between a computer and a parallel peripheral is provided by a peripheral controller by way of a virtual parallel UART (VPU). The VPU provides a novel parallel interface for higher speed parallel interface operation. The VPU is included in the peripheral controller along with a conventional RS-232 UART. The peripheral-side interface of the peripheral controller provides full bidirectional handshaking with the parallel peripheral. The host-side interface of the peripheral controller provides a legacy serial port compatible interface. Mode information selectively configures operation in either a VPU (parallel) or a UART (serial) mode. Both modes appear identical to software executing on the computer, enabling the use of standard serial I/O drivers without modification, and providing transparent legacy mode compatibility even when the hardware is configured for VPU mode.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2005Date of Patent: May 12, 2009Assignee: Socket Mobile, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Newman
