  • Patent number: 8063775
Abstract: An energy management system includes a control and uplink module adapted to selectively monitor and control at least one energy consuming device, the control and uplink module in communication with an electronic storage device and adapted to transmit data to the electronic storage device, a sensor in communication with the control and uplink module, wherein the sensor is adapted to execute a pre-configured measurement and transmit a signal to the control and uplink module representative of the measurement, and an interface adapted for the entry of at least one operational parameter to the control and uplink module, at least one of the signal from the sensor and the operational parameter employed by the control and uplink module to facilitate an operation of the energy consuming device, the interface employing the data transmitted to the storage device to provide an analysis of an operation of the energy consuming device.

  • Patent number: 7038423
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling ride through of an induction motor by detecting a power loss from a power supply connected to the induction motor, disconnecting the induction motor from the power supply, monitoring a line voltage of the power supply, monitoring a back emf voltage generated by the induction motor and monitoring a phase differential between the line voltage and the back emf voltage. It is determined whether the monitored voltages are within a predetermined voltage limit and the phase differential is within a predetermined phase limit and the power supply is re-connected to the induction motor in response to the monitored voltages being within the predetermined voltage limit and the monitored phase differential being within the predetermined phase limit.

  • Patent number: 4855045
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the separation of cells, organelles or proteins from a suspension or solution thereof, including:(a) coating ferromagnetic beads with an adsorption layer comprising antibodies, haptenes or chemical substrate adapted for binding the cells, organelles or proteins to be separated;(b) introducing said beads to a separation chamber having an entrance port and an exit port, the ratio of total volume of said beads to the chamber volume being of between 0.01 and 0.5, said chamber having magnetic field gradients in the regions of said entrance and exit ports to prevent the beads from leaving the chamber through the entrance or exit ports; and(c) passing the suspension or solution containing said cells, organelles or proteins into the entrance port through the chamber and out of the exit port to effect adsorption of the cells, organelles or proteins on said adsorption layer of the beads.

  • Patent number: 4590810
Abstract: A device for collecting samples of water from wells and the like comprises an elongated container having valves at both ends which valves are arranged to open when the container is lowered in a body of water and to close when the container is stopped and to remain closed when the container is being raised to the surface. The device traps a sample of the water at the position at which the device is stopped, and the container is held closed during the entire return to the surface.
