Patent number: 11010430Abstract: A user submits a query to a search system that produces a search results page having one or more segments and a plurality of URLs relevant to the query. Embodiments of the disclosure ensure cohesion between the URLs and the segments on the search results page by evaluating each segment relative to the URLs. A relevancy score is calculated for each segment based on the URLs. The relevancy score for each segment is compared to one or more thresholds. Depending on whether the relevancy score for each segment exceeds one or more thresholds, the segment can be eliminated from the search page, relocated on the search page, or left alone. Calculation of each relevancy score is based on information determined from a search log. A feedback loop can help improve the functioning of the suppression and/or relocation functions.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2019Date of Patent: May 18, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Pranathi Reddy Tupakula, Brian Thomas Schwartz, Vaibhav Girish Parikh, Marcelo De Barros, Ramkrishna Khoso

Patent number: 10747549Abstract: A method disclosed herein relates to a proxy application that connects to an input/output controller (IOCTL) interface driver. The IOCTL interface driver transfers IOCTL commands to a baseboard management controller (BMC). The proxy application receives, through the IOCTL interface driver, an application protocol request over an IOCTL command from the BMC. The application protocol request includes a computing devices configuration, a computing devices configuration option, and user interface data. The proxy application also receives an update to the computing devices current configuration based on the computing devices configuration option. The proxy application generates a new application protocol request over the IOCTL command based on the update to the computing devices current configuration. The proxy application transmits, through the IOCTL interface driver, the new application protocol request over the IOCTL command to the BMC.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2017Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: HEWLETT PACKARD ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT LPInventors: Lee A. Preimesberger, Jorge Daniel Cisneros, Thomas A. Schwartz

Patent number: 9973385Abstract: Remotely configuring an online computer system. A configuration file is generated at a management controller associated with a computer system in response to a request from a configuration utility associated with a user device, wherein the user device is located remotely from the computer system. The configuration file is sent from the management controller to the configuration utility via a network connection. A modified configuration file is received at the management controller from the configuration utility via the network connection, wherein the modified configuration file comprises system level changes to a configuration of the computer system. The system level changes from the modified configuration file are implemented at the computer system while an operating system associated with the computer system is online.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2012Date of Patent: May 15, 2018Assignee: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LPInventors: Edward Allen Wright, Darren J Cepulis, Thomas A Schwartz

Publication number: 20160203017Abstract: A server system may include a baseboard management controller and a host system. The baseboard management controller may obtain an identification of a peer system over a management network connection. The baseboard management controller may provide the identification of the peer system to the host system. The host system may use the identification of the peer system to obtain a virtual machine image.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2013Publication date: July 14, 2016Inventors: Chris Davenport, Lee A Preimesberger, Eric A Ramirez, Tess Muir, Sangita Prajapati, Jorge Daniel Cisneros, James Ayvaz, Thomas A Schwartz

Publication number: 20140087173Abstract: The present invention relates to a substrate with a solid support coated with a porous hydrophobic polymer layer or film, wherein said polymer layer or film is coated with a water-immiscible hydrophobic liquid forming a stable film on the polymer surface. The present invention further relates to a method of forming a protein- and cell-repellent surface, comprising the steps of providing a substrate with a solid support coated with a porous hydrophobic polymer layer or film, and applying a water-immiscible hydrophobic liquid to said porous hydrophobic polymer layer or film, a respective method of preventing the formation of biofilms, adhesion of cells and bacteria, and/or migration of cells and bacteria on a surface, as well as the use of a porous hydrophobic polymer layer or film that is coated with a water-immiscible hydrophobic liquid for forming a protein-, cell- and bacteria-repellent surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2013Publication date: March 27, 2014Applicant: Karlsruher Institut fur TechnologieInventors: Erica Boles, Pavel Levkin, Ursula Obst, Thomas Schwartz, Junshen Li

Patent number: 4358131Abstract: A heel binding for a cross-country ski has opposing latches movable toward each other under engagement by spaced apart flexible beams that force the latches together to capture a projection from the heel of a skier's shoe to hold the heel to the ski. The inside surfaces of the latches are cam-shaped to allow releasing force on the pin to urge the latches outward against the flexible beams, and to release the pin when the force is substantial enough, as in a fall. A collar slidable on the flexible beams adjusts the effective stiffness of the flexible beams to adjust the releasing force.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1981Date of Patent: November 9, 1982Inventor: Thomas A.
