Users access the content within the learning path according to the hierarchy of the nodes. Advantageously, the author is able to present content, which may otherwise be distributed across the internet, within a cohesive learning path.

    Abstract: A run flat tire has a plurality of reinforcing wedges located in the tire sidewall with the hardness of each wedge generally diminishing in the radially inward direction of the sidewall. Since the bead filler is harder than the radial innermost wedge, the hardness at generally the top of the bead filler increases in the radial inward direction. The reinforcing wedges partially overlap each other and can generally have any configuration. The changing of hardness of the radial wedges results in a wedge sequence and thus a more even strain distribution throughout the tire sidewall. This strain distribution extends the run flat life of the tire and also provides a good balance with other tire performance parameters.

    Abstract: A tire with reduced tread noise includes a tread having a plurality of base pitches arranged about the circumference of the tire in at least one pitch sequence. Each base pitch in the pitch sequence has a tread geometry defined by a plurality of load-supporting tread blocks separated or interrupted by grooves and/or sipes. The base pitches in the pitch sequence have different tread geometries to reduce the noise of the tire on the road surface. The grooves and/or sipes in each base pitch have common end points along the leading and trailing edges of the base pitches such that the grooves and/or sipes are continuous across the boundary between adjacent base pitches in the pitch sequence. Likewise, the grooves and/or sipes in each base pitch in one rib or row in the tire can have common end points along the edge between a base pitch in an adjacent rib or row, such that the grooves and/or sipes are continuous in the lateral direction as well.

    Abstract: A tire with reduced tire noise includes a tread having a plurality of base pitches placed about the circumference of the tire in at least one circumferential section. According to one aspect of the invention, the base pitches have three different pitch lengths which form a pitch sequence around the circumference of the tire in each circumferential section. The base pitches are arranged such that the transitions between the base pitches with the smallest pitch lengths to the base pitches with the largest pitch lengths are between about 15% and 30% of the total number of transitions between base pitches of different lengths in the pitch sequence. Additionally, the smallest and largest base pitches each comprise between about 35% and 40% of the total number of base pitches around the circumference of the tire. The above factors, when coupled with no more than three consecutive base pitches having the same pitch length being arranged adjacent one another, provide a tread with reduced tire noise.

The pitch sequences in the sections are arranged such that the noise produced by the base pitches in the tire tread is a low level, distributed noise to reduce the noise produced by the tire when the tire is in use.

    Abstract: A CMOS circuit is disclosed which has a latent image feature for application in FET memory arrays for writable read only storage applications. A four device cross-coupled CMOS circuit is formed with minimum real estate area, so as to allow for wiring level programming into a preconditioned binary one or zero state. The preconditioned circuit will assume a preselected binary state when power is turned on. Thereafter, the circuit can be accessed for normal binary one and zero selective storage without a significant diminution in its operating characteristics, when compared with conventional CMOS cross-coupled storage circuits.

    Abstract: The high resistance of diffused electrical interconnection lines used for ground return paths in MOS field effect transistor (MOSFET) arrays limits their size and performance. Advantage is taken of the extra interconnection level available from conventional double-layer-polycrystalline silicon (polysilicon) processes to distribute ground potential to arrays, by means of a polycrystalline grid with direct contact to diffused electrodes therein, thus greatly reducing the deleterious effects of ground resistance. The proposed ground grid is integrated into the structure of a MOSFET ROM using a typical double polysilicon process. The first polysilicon level provides the conductive medium for said ground grid and the diffusing doping impurities that form contiguous source electrodes for the array MOSFETs. Gate electrodes thereof and word lines are formed out of the second polysilicon level. Drain electrodes are diffused and contacted by metallized output lines.

    Abstract: A generic FET logic circuit topology is disclosed which employs non-thresholded path routing to eliminate logic transition times in the critical data path. Non-threshold logic performs logic operations with non-inverting unity gain OR and AND functions. The propagation time through the logic matrix is therefore similar to the delay through a chain of linear amplifiers, as contrasted to an algebraic accumulation of delays with conventional logic techniques. This results in an N-factor improvement in the power-delay product over conventional techniques, where N is the number of logic operations being performed.
