  • Patent number: 10158567
Abstract: A method for assisting media access control (MAC) address learning is disclosed. The method includes receiving, at a first provider edge (PE) device, a data packet from a core network, the data packet identifying an Ethernet Segment (ES) from which the data packet originated and identifying a first MAC address as the destination MAC address; determining, at the first PE device, whether the first PE device has an Ethernet connection in the ES identified by the data packet and whether the first PE device has learned the first MAC address; and, upon positive determination, sending an announcement message to the core network, the announcement message identifying the first MAC address.

  • Publication number: 20180258980
Abstract: A system for manufacturing a drive shaft assembly comprises a welding apparatus configured to weld a tube to an end fitting to form the drive shaft assembly having an annular weld. A transport apparatus is configured to transport the drive shaft assembly away from the welding apparatus. A knurling apparatus receives the drive shaft assembly from the transport apparatus. The knurling apparatus is configured to knurl the weld of the drive shaft assembly. The knurling apparatus includes a pair of knurling plates having textured surfaces in facing relationship. One of the knurling plates is configured to move relative to the other of the knurling plates to roll the drive shaft assembly between the textured surfaces, thereby knurling the weld to improve an appearance and texture of the outer surface of the drive shaft assembly.

  • Patent number: 10033636
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for assisting Ethernet Segment (ES)-aware media access control (MAC) address learning is disclosed. The method includes receiving, at a provider edge (PE) device, a data packet from a core network, the data packet identifying an ES from which the data packet originated and identifying a MAC address as a source MAC address; determining whether the PE device has an Ethernet connection in the ES identified by the data packet; and, upon positive determination, associating the MAC address identified as the source MAC address of the data packet to a bridge port, at the PE device, of the Ethernet connection in the ES identified by the data packet.

  • Publication number: 20180185599
Abstract: The ventilation interface for sleep apnea therapy interfaces a ventilation device to the patient's airways. The ventilation interface includes a pair of nasal inserts made from flexible, resilient silicone which are oval shaped in cross-section and slightly tapered from a base proximal the ventilation supply to the distal tip end. A bead flange is disposed about the exterior of each insert at the distal end of the insert. A bleed port for release of exhaled air is defined through a conical vent projecting normally to the path of the incoming air flow, and continues through a nipple extending to the exterior of the air conduit. In one embodiment, a pair of nasal inserts are integral with a nasal cannula body, with bleed ports axially aligned with each insert. In another embodiment, each insert is independently connected to a separate, thin-walled, flexible supply line.

  • Publication number: 20180176216
Abstract: Secure communications are provided between a user computing device and a server computing device. An enrollment request is received from a user computing device that is configured via a distributed client software application, and is processed. The enrollment request is usable to enroll the user computing device in a network and includes an encrypted partial initial biometric vector associated with a user. An authentication request is processed that is subsequently received that includes an encrypted partial second biometric vector and that is associated with a user of the user computing device. A comparison of the encrypted partial initial biometric vector and the encrypted partial second biometric vector is performed, and a value representing the comparison is generated and transmitted to the user computing device. The user computing device is authenticated where the value is above a minimum threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180117083
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for killing persister cells with mitomycin C and/or cisplatin, or derivatives thereof. Recalcitrant infections are difficult to treat due to persister cells, a subpopulation of all bacterial populations that is highly tolerant against all traditional antibiotics since the cells are dormant and antibiotics are designed to kill growing cells. Here, we show that MMC and cisplatin eradicate persister cells through a growth-independent mechanism, cross-linking DNA. We find both agents are effective against both planktonic cultures and highly robust biofilm cultures for a broad range of bacterial species, including commensal Escherichia coli K-12 as well as pathogenic species of E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In certain approaches cisplatin is superior to MMC.

  • Patent number: 9906374
Abstract: Efficient certificate revocation list (CRL) processing is disclosed. A desired modification to an encoded CRL is determined. A computing device sequentially processes, during a first pass, a first CRL stream comprising the CRL to identify a CRL length difference between the CRL and a modified CRL based on the desired modification. The computing device sequentially processes, during a second pass, a second CRL stream comprising the CRL. The computing device, during the second pass, streams a modified encoded header portion to a modified CRL stream that identifies a new length of the modified CRL based on the length difference, streams a modified encoded CRL entries portion comprising a plurality of CRL entries to the modified CRL stream that contains the desired modification, and streams a modified encoded trailer portion to the modified CRL stream that contains a new digital signature based on the desired modification.

  • Publication number: 20170081500
Abstract: A material system and method for bonding refractory powders in a three dimensional printer. A first particulate component including a refractory material is mixed with a first reactive component to form a particulate mixture. A flat layer of the particulate mixture is dispensed onto a build surface. A liquid binder, which may include a furan monomer and a surfactant, is dispensed by an ink-jet printhead onto the particulate mixture. The particulate mixture may contain a furan-soluble polymer that imposes a capillary attraction for the liquid binder, keeping it situated in the immediate vicinity of where the binder is dispensed. Additionally it provides a sufficient catalytic power to co-polymerize with the furan monomer and form a solid structure. This enables a 3D printer to build strong, accurate parts with high packing density, and to reuse the feed material many times in the printer.

  • Patent number: 9384424
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for providing customized user experiences with media assets created using plenoptic content capture technology. The ability to increase the focus on different objects while the media asset is progressing may allow a user to more easily track the object. Conversely, the ability to decrease the focus on different objects while the media asset is progressing may block, or cloud the display of, the object from being seen by a user.
