  • Patent number: 8841369
Abstract: A description is given of an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising at least one polyurethane, dispersed in aqueous phase and having one or more uretdione groups, and at least one solid polyamine with a deactivated surface, said dispersion being useful as an adhesive, coating material or sealant or for producing adhesive, coating or sealing compositions. The compositions can be activated thermally or by electromagnetic radiation.

  • Patent number: 6750280
Abstract: A thermosetting composition consists essentially of a mixture of (A) a polymer containing acid anhydride groups, (B) a molecular sieve being partially loaded with at least one amine, and (C) a filler capable of releasing water upon heating at a temperature above the processing temperature of the mixture of (A), (B) and (C). The processing temperature is chosen so as to be below the desorption temperature of the amine from the molecular sieve. The composition is particularly useful in making hot melt adhesives and sheetings of electric cables.

  • Patent number: 6593435
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for producing storage-stable, latent-reactive layers and powders of surface-deactivated, solid polyisocyanates and dispersions or aqueous solutions of isocyanate reactive polymers, which can be used as adhesives and coverings. Said dispersions, suspensions or aqueous solutions can applied to a substrate in an appropriate form. Water can then be eliminated at a temperature inferior to the reaction temperature of the isocyanates and this operation can take place at a temperature above the softening temperature of the polymers. This process produces, at ambient temperature, dry and substantially water free layers which are storage stable and can react with the polymers at the polyisocyanate reaction temperature.

  • Patent number: 5792816
Abstract: Subjects of the invention are new crosslinking agents for polymers with acid anhydride groups on the basis of amines or polyamines that are adsorbed on anhydrous molecular sieve powder. In blends with the polymers containing acid anhydride groups and under water-free conditions, the new crosslinkers form crosslinkable polymer systems that are storage-stable at room temperature. The crosslinking reaction is triggered by water or elevated temperature, leading to desorption of the amines by the molecular sieve powder and reaction with the anhydride groups. The crosslinking products are very soft to hard compositions with different tensile strength, tear resistance, permanent set, glass transition temperature, heat resistance, adhesion, tackiness and chemical resistance. The polymer systems can be used in the manufacture of molding compositions, coating compositions, foams, adhesive compositions, hot melt compositions and sealant compositions.
