Patent number: 11338635Abstract: A multi-leg control arm for a wheel suspension in a vehicle, includes first and second control arm legs coupling the multi-leg control arm to an axle carrier, and third and fourth control arm legs coupling the multi-leg control arm to a wheel carrier. The first and/or third control arm leg comprises a first elongated hole, and the second and/or fourth control arm leg comprises a second elongated hole. The first and second elongated holes are aligned with one another and define a movement path of the multi-leg control arm with respect to the axle carrier or the wheel carrier. At least one fastening element penetrates the first and second elongated holes and is adapted to fix the multi-leg control arm with respect to the axle carrier or the wheel carrier in a movement position on the movement path to set a control arm camber or a control arm track.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2020Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: Benteler Automobiltechnik GmbHInventors: Thomas Abram, Geir Linnerud, Frode Paulsen

Patent number: 7580762Abstract: Methods, microphones, and systems are provided for processing sound waves. The sound waves are detected with a portable device (such as a microphone) and an audio signal representing the sound waves is generated. A security layer is applied to the audio signal within the portable device (e.g., by encrypting the audio signal), so that only authorized entities may access the audio signal. The audio signal is then outputted from the portable device to an external computer, which can remove the security layer to access the audio content within the audio signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2004Date of Patent: August 25, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Thomas A. Abrams, Theodore C. Tanner, Jr.

Patent number: 7502481Abstract: Methods, microphones, and processors are provided for processing ambient sound waves. Ultrasound waves are combined with the sound waves to create heterodyned sound waves. The heterodyned sound waves are detected and, in response, a sound detection signal containing information relating to the heterodyned sound waves is generated. A heterodyned audio signal representing the heterodyned sound waves is generated at least partially based on the sound detection signal, and then an ambient sound signal representing the ambient sounds is derived from the heterodyned audio signal.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2004Date of Patent: March 10, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Thomas A. Abrams, Theodore C. Tanner, Jr.

Publication number: 20070160142Abstract: Methods, devices, systems and/or storage media for video and/or audio processing. An exemplary method of controlling a display device includes receiving an executable file and/or code via a network interface, receiving video data via a serial digital interface, executing the executable file and/or code on a runtime engine, processing the video data based at least in part on the executing to produce processed video data and displaying the processed video data. Other exemplary technologies are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2007Publication date: July 12, 2007Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Thomas Abrams

Publication number: 20060045308Abstract: Camera and methods are provided for watermarking film content. A watermark, which can have information, such as a tracking message, is generated. The watermark preferably can be represented as correlated noise that cannot be visually noticed by a casual observer of the film content, but can later be extracted from the film content to obtain the embedded information, e.g., during a forensics study in a piracy investigation, to provide end-to-end asset tracking and management, or to prevent viewing of the film content. The watermark is optically applied to the optical image to generate a watermarked optical image, e.g., by absorbing light from selected regions within the optical image. The optical image may optionally be analyzed, in which case, the watermark can be applied to the optical image based on the analysis. Lastly, the photographic film is exposed to the watermarked optical image, thereby capturing the optical image and watermark on film. Camera and methods are provided for modifying film content.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2004Publication date: March 2, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Thomas Abrams, Theodore Tanner

Publication number: 20050195205Abstract: A method and apparatus is presented for decoding an encoded streaming media file and outputting the decoded streaming media file directly in the frame buffer of a driver, thereby eliminating the need for intermediate buffers for audio, video, and print devices. The method provides the capability to capture audio, video, and/or print (and metadata) at a point and apply digital rights management to the data from the point of capture to the point of rendering. The invention works with any rendering technology that uses frame buffers, such as digital light processing (DLP) device, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and MEM (Micro-electro-mechanical) imaging devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2004Publication date: September 8, 2005Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Thomas Abrams

Publication number: 20050135682Abstract: An image capturing device is capable of capturing and encoding image data so as to output a streaming media file from the device. Vector information derived from the captured image data may be altered to change, i.e., the frame capture rate of subsequent image data, according to frame resolution requirements.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2003Publication date: June 23, 2005Inventors: Thomas Abrams, John Conrad
