  • Publication number: 20240065411
Abstract: A hair styling appliance is described that includes an airflow unit for generating an airflow, a heating unit for heating the airflow, and a control unit for controlling the airflow unit and the heating unit. The control unit receives user data relating to at least one of a desired style, a hair type and a previous styling by the appliance. The control unit controls the airflow unit and the heating unit in a sequence of modes to style the hair of a user, the airflow unit having a different flow rate and/or the heating unit having a different heat setting in different modes. The control unit uses the user data to define the sequence of modes.

  • Publication number: 20240057738
Abstract: A hair styling appliance is described that includes an airflow unit for generating an airflow, a heating unit for heating the airflow, and a control unit for controlling the airflow unit and the heating unit. The control unit controls the airflow unit and the heating unit in a predefined sequence of modes that includes a first mode, a second mode and a third mode. The airflow unit has a different flow rate and/or the heating unit has a different heat setting in each of the modes, and the control unit determines when to transition between modes of the predefined sequence.

  • Publication number: 20230397705
Abstract: A haircare appliance has a housing having an air inlet and an air outlet, an airflow generator for generating an airflow from the air inlet to the air outlet, and a heater for heating the airflow. The haircare appliance has an airflow temperature module for obtaining a value indicative of a temperature of the airflow at the air outlet, a distance sensor for sensing a distance to hair within a flow path from the air outlet and a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the hair. The haircare appliance has a moisture estimation module configured to estimate, based on received output values from the airflow temperature module, the distance sensor and the temperature sensor, a moisture content of the hair.

  • Publication number: 20210275283
Abstract: A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle, a fluid reservoir for storing a working fluid, and a fluid delivery system for receiving working fluid from the reservoir, and for delivering working fluid to the oral cavity of a user. A drive unit drives movement of a bristle carrier relative to the handle. The fluid reservoir extends about at least part of the drive unit.

  • Patent number: 10517704
Abstract: A dental treatment appliance includes a handle, a nozzle for engaging the teeth of the user and for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user, and a datum component also for engaging the teeth of the user. Each of the nozzle and the datum component is moveable relative to the handle. A control circuit detects relative movement between the nozzle and the datum component as the appliance is moved along the teeth of a user, and actuates the delivery of working fluid to the teeth of the user depending on the detected relative movement.

  • Publication number: 20180125621
Abstract: A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle and a fluid delivery system. The fluid delivery system includes a nozzle for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user. The nozzle moves relative to the handle as the appliance is moved along the teeth of the user. A sensor provides an output which varies with movement of nozzle relative to the handle. A control circuit actuates the delivery of working fluid to the teeth of the user depending on the output from the sensor. The control circuit is configured to adjust a parameter of the delivery to the teeth of the user, such as the volume of working fluid within a delivery, depending on the variation with time of the output from the sensor.
