  • Publication number: 20220250019
Abstract: A rotational device which finds application as a kinetic sculpture, a record stabilizer, an air agitator or an impeller comprises a helical curved member having a first elongate helical portion defining a first helix of first radius about a first axis and a second elongate helical portion of opposing handedness defining a second helix of a second radius, smaller than the first radius, about a second axis, and a proximal intermediate portion linking a first or lower end of the first helical portion and a proximal first or lower end of the second helical portion, wherein the second helical portion defines an internal cylindrical volume that is unoccupied and absent any central shafts or struts, a rotational support base or apparatus for facilitating rotation of the helical curved member and a mounting arrangement for mounting the helical curved member to the rotational support base or apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10415771
Abstract: Provided are wearable lights or lights that can be attached to accessories when carrying out activities in low-light or no-light conditions. The wearable lights incorporate a portion of non-magnetic material with an internal chamber with a low friction internal surface that is surrounded by a copper coil. A magnet is passed through the internal chamber, allowing the copper coil to break the magnetic fields of the magnet, which creates a burst of electrical current. The current is used to emit light through LED's. Movement of the wearer/user generates the movement of the magnet in the internal chamber, and repelling magnets at the top and bottom of the internal chamber assist the magnet in moving back and forth through the chamber. The inventive device can be adapted for use in many sporting and other applications, such as in running shoes, running belts, rucksacks and as stand-alone wearable lights.

  • Publication number: 20150062290
Abstract: A personal communication device, such as a smartphone handset comprises a main body incorporating a camera having a lens. An attachment for the personal communication device is detachably mountable to the main body by means of a cover. The attachment also comprises an optical device arranged to reflect light into the lens from a panoramic field of view. The optical device includes a convex mirror, which preferably reflects light from a 360° field of view into the camera. Such an arrangement enables the user to completely capture an image of his surroundings, so that the image is an objective record of a moment in time as experienced by the user. The invention is more portable and versatile than previous arrangements.
