  • Publication number: 20240088618
Abstract: A bump-crimping device is provided. The device is comprised of a body that receives at least one punch and at least one cable end. The cable end rests within a receiving area that holds the end in place while the punch, which is attached to and powered by an air hammer or impact gun, is pressed down on the end to crimp the end. The body may also be comprised of a handle to allow a user to securely hold the device during use.

  • Patent number: 10258023
Abstract: A fishing lure for securing live bait includes a flexible main body and a stretchable collar. The flexible main body is configured to have a fishing hook inserted therethrough. The stretchable collar is connected to the flexible main body. The stretchable collar has a hole configured to stretch when pulled to allow a live bait to be inserted into the hole and constrict when released to secure the live bait in the hole. Whereby, when the flexible main body is positioned on the fishing hook and the live bait is inserted into the hole of the stretchable collar, the stretchable collar positions the live bait adjacent the fishing hook for fishing.

  • Publication number: 20050161329
Abstract: Multi-capillary systems for high-throughput electrophoretic separation and detection of biomolecules are disclosed. One embodiment of the invention uses galactomannans as a size-sieving matrix for multi-channel electrophoretic separations of biomolecules. Multi-color detection for the simultaneous analysis of controls and standards in the same channels as the samples, and endogenous fluorescence detection are also disclosed. Another embodiment of the invention is a two dimensional system for separation of complex samples, using multiplexed capillary electrophoresis system as the second dimension, with a fraction collection step connecting the two separation steps. The systems allow for separations to be accomplished with a highly parallel manner, or in a two-dimensional format.

  • Publication number: 20050131836
Abstract: There is disclosed a method, device and software for allowing a buyer to order and pay for products with minimal action required on the part of the buyer. In an embodiment, a display component displays to the buyer a product available for purchase from a merchant through a merchant computing device. A purchase order component is configured to send to the merchant, in response to a single purchasing action taken by the buyer to purchase a product displayed by the display component, a purchase order for the product by way of a data network. A value storage component under control of the buyer stores data representative of a currency of an issuer, verifiable as representing the currency by the merchant. The value storage component is configurable to electronically transfer data representative of an amount of the currency in response to a request from the merchant.

  • Patent number: 4797878
Abstract: A system for use on communications channels such as telephone lines, makes use of a Token Throwing Multiplexer (TTM) whereby a plurality of multipoint networks each having a master or local station and one or more remote stations and each having a station located at a common site can function as substantially independent networks while using common modems and telephone lines. The TTM uses conventional time division multiplexing (TDM) techniques in the outbound direction. Contention for the inbound line is resolved by a token throwing technique, the current inbound user being the location and channel in possession of the outstanding token.

  • Patent number: 4645871
Abstract: In a system in which data between a master and remote location is encrypted by using the DES algorithm, the status of security devices at the remote location is monitored from a centralized security station. A message indicative of the status of the security devices is used to generate an initializing vector (IV). This IV is then used to encrypt the data from the remote to the master.

  • Patent number: 4630287
Abstract: A method of adding a secondary channel to a QAM signal mapped in the complex plane is provided. A pair of positions in the mapped complex plane is determined such that one-half the sum of the square of the distances to such positions from the origin is no greater than the square of the distance from the origin to the position of the furthest mapped data point. For secondary channel communication, a data point is shifted from a normal position to one or the other of the new positions with one of said positions assuming a binary "1" for the secondary channel and the other of said positions assuming a binary "0".
