  • Patent number: 6914677
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for optically measuring the concentrations of a substance contained in a fluid medium. With the solution according to the invention the accuracy of measurement is to be increased in accordance with the object over a greater period without any additional calibration measurements, and ageing of a fluorescent substance within a layer is to be taken into consideration, in particular, and the long-time drift of such a measurement system is to be reduced. To achieve this, a layer containing such a known fluorescent substance or layer system are employed in which fluorescence is excited. The fluorescence changes depending on a substance concentration or a pH-value, and the intensity varying correspondingly in time or phase shift of the fluorescent light is allowed to be measured with at least one optical detector with the known intensity or phase of the fluorescence exciting light.

  • Patent number: 6903216
Abstract: This invention encompasses anthranilamides with heteroarylsulfonyl side chain, process for their preparation, their use as medicament or diagnostic aid, and pharmaceutical preparations containing them. Compounds of formula I, in which R1 to R7 have the meanings stated in the claims, act on the Kv1.5 potassium channel and inhibit a potassium current which is referred to as the ultra-rapidly activating delayed rectifier in the atrium of the human heart. They are therefore suitable as novel antiarrhythmic ingredients, such as for the treatment and prophylaxis of atrial arrhythmias, e.g. atrial fibrillation (AF) or atrial flutter.

  • Publication number: 20050120288
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for delegated page specialization based on a page layer concept. A page consist of a set of layers. Except the first layer each layer represents a delta (container, frames) in its layout to its previous layer introduced on the corresponding level of administration. Administrators can modify the previous layers by defining new immutable and optional containers or frames on the page (delta). Only the deltas to the previous layers are stored with assignments to their parent layers. Immutable containers or frames of previous layers cannot be modified. The final page is automatically constructed as an union of deltas being stored in a so called tree-structure. The delegated page specialization is preferably accomplished via a GUI-component which supports the administrators.

  • Publication number: 20010032073
Abstract: The present invention relates to coding and storage of phonetic features in order to search for strings of characters, whereby it is applied in particular to searching for a variety of names, identifiers, denotations and other character strings in a database. This is achieved by a method and system for coding and storing phonetic information representable as an original character sequence in which the phonetic information is coded in a bit code which does not comprise any characters. In some embodiments, tables are used and which comprise character groups that are found empirically and reflect the specific phonetics and method of spelling a name adapted to the actual language in use. This enables efficient coding of phonetic features associated with said groups and provides for adapting the coding method of the present invention to a plurality of different languages.

  • Patent number: 5901314
Abstract: A method of reducing the size of compiled and executable computer programs which are edited with the aid of object-oriented programming techniques. The common portions of a program produced by an object-oriented programming technique are separated as untyped implementation classes from the typed interface classes with parameterized templates where the typed interface classes comprise no virtual functions. Untyped implementation classes are arranged in a second polymorph class hierarchy, and method calls to the interface classes are delegated to the implementation classes. The invention is particularly applicable to the technical field of producing class libraries for an object-oriented programming language. The invention advantageously achieves an effective and significant reduction in the size of computer programs and thus allows the computer program to be stored and executed with less demand on the hardware requirements of the computer system.
