  • Patent number: 6062698
Abstract: A system for creating video generated decorative images is provided which includes a projecting device for generating an image and first and second reflecting members including reflective surfaces oriented at an angle of 90.degree. or less to the display surface of the projecting device and of less than 180.degree. to one another. A pleasing and changing kaleidoscopic image is visible when facing the display surface or screen and the first and second reflecting surfaces by the mutual reflection of the images on the screen and the reflecting members. In one preferred embodiment, the junction forming the apex between the reflecting members is inclined to present the appearance of a pentagonal kaleidoscopic image. In another preferred embodiment, one-way mirrors are used to generate further reflections visible from outside the system. The projecting device is preferably a computer monitor which displays randomly generated patterns to produce a dynamic, self-illuminating kaleidoscopic effect.
