  • Patent number: 8056878
Abstract: A document holder has compact construction for in-line placement and viewing between a keyboard and display monitor. The holder can be set-up in a minimum profile configuration to accommodate small source documents, and can be quickly expanded to accommodate relatively large source documents. Easel size conversion is provided by a compound easel that is mounted for pivotal movement on a base platform. The easel viewing angle can be tilted to suit operator viewing preferences. The document support position can be adjusted vertically up and down to provide a reading level that satisfies operator needs and preferences. The compound easel includes a “drop-down” reading rack that can be extended below the front edge of a workstation support surface in the over-hang zone adjacent the edge of the work surface and above the keyboard to allow in-line placement and use of the document holder in workstations where the available work surface area is not large enough to support a conventional document holder.

  • Patent number: 7100883
Abstract: A document holder, adapted for use at a computer workstation or word processor, includes an easel supported by spaced apart support arms. The easel and the support arms are connected to each other at respective pivot connections to provide for angular adjustment of the easel with respect to the arms. The easel includes a first member connected to the support arms and a second member which is movable relative to the first member in a downward direction or a direction toward an operator of the document holder. The first and second easel members include respective retainer and support rail parts provided with detents for selectively locking the second easel member in a selected working position with respect to the first easel member. A third easel member is supported on the first easel member for extension in a direction opposite that of the second easel member.

  • Patent number: 5104086
Abstract: A computer work station includes a generally planar base plate with an upstanding easel connected to the forward end of the base plate. The easal has a projecting lip which will support documents or other copy in an upright position for viewing by the user of the work station. In the preferred embodiment, the easel is connected to a support member which is slidably connected to the base plate to permit transverse lateral slidable movement of the easel with respect to the base plate. The easel is adjustably connected to the support member to permit vertical adjustable movement of the easel with respect to the base plate.
