  • Patent number: 5535466
Abstract: A surgical table for animals has a basic flat top which can serve for the smaller species. To accommodate large animals, extensions are fitted in the form of rigid panels having tongue and groove engagement with selected edge parts of the basic top. They can be clamped in position. The top is carried by folding legs enabling it to be lowered virtually to floor level and raised to operating height. The legs are in variable X-form with a scissor action, the top of one leg being hinged to the underside of the top and the top of the other leg having a sliding or rolling engagement. The adjustment is by hydraulic actuators, the main one, which aligns with the legs when fully folded, being assisted by a starter actuator which acts vertically between the legs and the table top at the beginning of each lift.

  • Patent number: 4567855
Abstract: An animal lifting device has an inflatable mattress (1) carried by an inflatable support structure (2). In plan, this structure is a closed loop, for example rectangular, so that the center of the mattress is over an open space and can sag down into it to cradle an animal lying on it. The outer edge portion of the mattress preferably overhangs the inflatable support. This comprises a number of compartments (4) which can be inflated individually in sequence, progressively to raise an animal from ground level to a convenient working height. Restraints (11) can be adjusted to tilt the mattress to a desired attitude. There are also means (12) for holding an animal down on the mattress.

  • Patent number: 4556016
Abstract: A lifting device for animals, such as downer cows, has an inflatable bag (1) on a stabilizing frame (2). When inflated, the bag has a valley (4), accentuated at one end, for the cow's belly and udder. A harness (3) is provided for strapping the cow to the bag. A cow can be rolled on to the deflated bag and strapped on, and as inflation proceeds she is raised up straddling the bag. This ultimately takes her entire weight while circulation is restored. The bag may be compartmented so that inflation can be progressive from one compartment to the next, assisting the lifting procedure.

  • Patent number: 4305621
Abstract: A vehicle wheel attachment offers an increased tread to support the vehicle on soft ground, snow or sand. A rigid version has a body (5) of revolution which is clamped co-axially against the wheel (1) using a screw device (7,19) anchored to the studs which mount the wheel. The body is generally frusto-conical and may be made buoyant or be ballasted. There are also inflatable (29) and telescopic versions which can be collapsed and stowed against the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4230272
Abstract: A crop spraying apparatus uses a flexible pipe that can be suspended clear of, and traversed over, the ground. The pipe has nozzles or apertures at intervals along its length. The pipe ends may be carried by tractors, one of which will have a pump for forcing the spray medium along the pipe and that tractor, or the other, will have a winch with a drum on which the pipe is wound. The winch is controlled to maintain the pipe tensioned and clear of the ground despite variations in the spacing between tractors. A fixed structure could replace one of the tractors.
