  • Patent number: 9709128
Abstract: The invention relates to an article including an elastic main body on the basis of a vulcanized rubber (17) having an article surface that is susceptible to wear, which is provided with a textile layer. The textile layer, particularly a woven fabric (16) or knitted fabric, has a mesh design that allows the vulcanized rubber (17) to penetrate to the textile surface to form a textile-vulcanized rubber hybrid system (15), wherein the vulcanized rubber portion on the textile surface can be controlled by means of the stitch number, stitch width and the thread design of the textile layer. The article is in particular a drive belt and in connection with the primary intended use, a method for making a drive belt is provided.

  • Patent number: 9581219
Abstract: A power transmission belt (20) having an elastic main body (17) includes a top layer as the belt backing and a bottom section having a power transmission zone. The power transmission zone and/or the top layer has/have a coating (15, 16), characterized in that the coating (15, 16) of the power transmission zone and/or the top layer includes at least the following layer construction: a base coating (18) made of a textile material, wherein the base coating (18) forms a bond with the elastic main body (17) and has a surface coating (19) including at least a mixture A, which contains at least one reactive diluent as per DIN 55945:2007-03. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a power transmission belt. The novel coating concept is applicable in particular in a toothed belt.

  • Publication number: 20120309573
Abstract: A drive belt with a main body made of a polymeric material having resilient properties, comprising a top layer as the belt rear face and a base having a force transfer zone, wherein moreover at least one tension cord is embedded in the main body. Three drive belt variants are specified. In addition, the top layer and/or the force transfer zone are/is provided with a pressure-resistant coating. The drive belt is characterized in that at least the top layer and/or the base are/is free from carbon black and free from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). The tension cord and/or abrasion-resistant coating are/is preferably prepared with an adhesive system that is likewise free from carbon black and PAH.

  • Patent number: 7309522
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions such as fibers, elastic yarns, wovens, nonwovens, knitted fabrics, fine nets, and articles produced at least in part from a styrenic block copolymer comprising at least two blocks produced from vinyl aromatic monomers and at least one block produced from alkyl-substituted, conjugated alkene monomers, where the block produced from the conjugated alkene may have sufficient substitution so as to prevent or significantly minimize thermal cross-linking of the residual unsaturation in the formed block during fiber formation. Additionally, the composition may be described as processable, without requiring any additives if, for example, the order-disorder-transition (ODT) temperature is less than about 280° C.
