  • Publication number: 20120113916
Abstract: The invention relates to a network element for allocating at least one user data link to a multiplex connection between a first network element and a second network element. The first element generates a first signaling message and transmits it to the second network element, the first signaling message indicating that the first element is available to transfer at least one respective user data link via one respective multiplex connection. The second network element assigns one multiplex connection between the first and second network element to each of the user data link or selects a transfer outside a multiplex connection for the user data link in accordance with the indicated availability of the first network element and depending on whether the second network element supports the transfer of the at least one user data link via multiplex connection.

  • Patent number: 8089867
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for allocating at least one user data link to a multiplex connection provided between a first network element and a second network element. According to the method, the first network element generates a first signaling message and transmits the same to the second network element, the first signaling message indicating to the second network element that the first network element is available to transfer the at least one respective user data link via one respective multiplex connection. The second network element assigns one multiplex connection between the first network element and the second network element to each of the at least one user data link or selects a transfer outside a multiplex connection for the user data link in accordance with the indicated availability of the first network element and depending on whether the second network element supports the transfer of the at least one user data link via multiplex connection.

  • Patent number: 8036234
Abstract: The embodiments relates to, among other things, a network interface unit (IM-MGW) in which signaling data is separated from useful data by the values of received data. The signaling data is tunneled to a control unit (MGCF). Two different data transmission networks (CS, IMS) can thus be simply combined, in particular, for video telephony.

  • Publication number: 20110238547
Abstract: There is proposed a charging control in which a policy and charging control function provides first (preliminary) charging control information, such as PCC rules, when the communication connection is set up or modified. Then, service information can be retrieved leading to an updated set of charging control information. The policy and charging control function provides then the updated charging control information for enforcement, wherein the charging system is informed about both the preliminary nature of the first charging control information and the validity of the second charging control information for a time before the update, i.e. before the transmission of the second charging control information. The charging system can use this updated charging control information and knows that it has to replace the former charging control information, so that the charging procedure can be corrected accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20110053590
Abstract: Devices and methods initiate the structuring or the configuration of an access network connection for an access of a terminal to a telecommunications network, such as a cellular mobile radio network. Before the structuring or configuration of the telecommunications network, it is decided whether this structuring or this configuration of the access network connection should be initiated through the telecommunications network or through the terminal, and that the terminal is notified of this decision by the telecommunications network in one or more messages.

  • Patent number: 7899086
Abstract: A method is provided for signaling a change from a first service to a second service during a call between a terminal device and a further terminal device over at least one communication network. When a change from the first service to the second service takes place during a call between the terminal device and the further terminal device, a network unit of the communication network, via which the terminal device is currently communicating to at least one further network unit, signals whether the change was initiated by the terminal device or by a network unit of the communication network.

  • Patent number: 7680132
Abstract: An efficient change to the coding of terminations at a media gateway is made possible by means of a method for carrying out an instruction (2), signalled by a media gateway controller (MGC) to a media gateway (MGW) for changing the coding of at least one live load connection section termination (termination B in FIG. 1) at the media gateway (MGW), whereby the media gateway (MGW), on receipt of the instruction, first carries out a check of the connectability of the terminations (termination B and (termination A in FIG. 1) of said context (termination B termination A etc) with new coding (2, 5/7/9) when said media gateway (MGW) determines, based on one (5 or 7 or 9 in FIG. 1) or several further instructions received by the media gateway (MGW), that all instructions for changing of codings in terminations in said context are available thereto.

  • Publication number: 20090279555
Abstract: An IP user data transport connection is established between a Media Gateway O and a Media Gateway T according to the BICC “Delayed Backward Bearer Establishment”. The Media Gateway O sends an IPBCP Accepted message towards the Media Gateway T upon receipt of an IPBCP Request message from Media Gateway T. The Media Gateway O sends data within the user data transport connection towards the Media Gateway T. The user data may arrive at the Media Gateway T before the IPBCP accepted message. The Media Gateway T retrieves the source IP address and Port number from a user data transport connection IP packet received the Media Gateway O, and sends the first user data transport connection IP packet (s) towards the Media Gateway O upon receipt of a user data transport connection IP packet from the Media Gateway O, using the retrieved IP Address and Port number as destination.

  • Patent number: 7577109
Abstract: A method selects user data that is transmitted between a calling user and at least one called user via at least one telecommunication network before call establishing is complete. The calling user uses a called user's reception address data contained in a reply message of a called user to select user data sent by the called user with a transmission address of said called user, a called user's reception address data of a call destination also representing transmission address data of said called user.

  • Publication number: 20090190506
Abstract: A method permitting the control of the service quality and/or service fees of telecommunication services in which several service nodes are involved. During the initiation and/or implementation of a communication service, an exchange of signaling data occurs between a communications terminal and at least two service nodes which are involved in the communication service. The control node detects whether the service data transmitted by the at least two service nodes relate to the very same communication service. Then the control node selects service data from the transmitted service data and uses these service data for controlling the service quality and/or service fees.

  • Publication number: 20090116477
Abstract: A video telecommunication connection is established via a landline telecommunications network and an IP multimedia subsystem telecommunications network using a media gateway control function of at least one Internet multimedia-media gateway device in the IP multimedia subsystem telecommunications network. An H.223 multiplex level usable for a telecommunication connection is exposed to an H.223 protocol negotiation, in carrying out an H.245 protocol negotiations for setting up the H.223 protocol negotiations connection for a telecommunication connection. A media gateway control function device is informed when the H.223 logic channels are open by H.245 signaling, thereby enabling the Internet multimedia-media gateway device of the IP multimedia subsystem telecommunications network to carry out at least part of the setup.

  • Publication number: 20090046643
Abstract: An apparatus is configured to send a message to a controller requesting that a media oriented negotiation acceleration preference message is to be sent repeatedly. The apparatus is further configured to provide the controller with media oriented negotiation acceleration preferences within that message which are to be advertised by the controller, and to request the controller to send a notification to the apparatus about receipt of the first media oriented negotiation acceleration preference message. The apparatus receives a notification from the controller about receipt of a media oriented negotiation acceleration preference message which firstly came in at the controller.
