  • Publication number: 20140093411
Abstract: A wobble drive mechanism for coupling a rotary motion to a reciprocating motion comprising a diagonal plate coupled to a rotary motion axis driving a wobble carrier having a flat side in sliding contact with the diagonal plate and a spherical side in contact with a spherical bearing recess. The wobble carrier has a bore containing at least one reciprocating drive shoe. The reciprocating drive shoe may be coupled to a piston operating within a cylinder. The reciprocating drive shoe may be free to move in the bore linearly and/or rotationally. In various embodiments, the reciprocating drive shoe comprises two or more components. In various embodiments the piston is coupled to the shoe via a fixed rod section and the fixed rod section terminates in, for example, a double cylindrical bearing T section or a spherical bearing. The reciprocating drive may operate various devices, for example, pump or motor devices.

  • Patent number: 8526692
Abstract: Deformation maps (e.g. deformation vector fields) used for correcting image-type data used in the treatment of patients in radiotherapy may be processed to eliminate inverse inconsistency and transitivity type errors which produce different results depending on the order or path of the calculation of deformation. The correction permits registration of a treatment plan with the changing patient image and accumulation of dose to a common reference frame without transformation dependent artifacts.

  • Publication number: 20130126464
Abstract: A vaporizer filler includes a fill port. The fill port defines an open interior. The open interior is configured to receive the nozzle of an anesthetic bottle. An agent reservoir is configured to receive and store anesthetic agent. A valve is disposed between the open interior and the agent reservoir. At least one vent extends through the fill port. A method of filling a vaporizer includes inserting the nozzle of a bottle filled with anesthetic agent into a vaporizer filler. At least one vent is occluded from fluid communication. Fluid communication between and open interior and an agent reservoir is opened. Anesthetic agent is poured into an agent reservoir of a vaporizer. Fluid communication is closed between the open interior and the agent reservoir. At least one vent is opened to fluid communication with the open interior. Pressure within the open interior is released through the at least one vent.

  • Patent number: 7229200
Abstract: A light-conductive rod element includes a solid rod-shaped body having a side surface extending along a longitudinal rod axis between a first light-input end and a second light-redirecting end. The rod element is fabricated from a material exhibiting a refractive index greater than the refractive index of air in order to facilitate total internal reflection. The light-redirecting end includes at least a first planar face extending along a first plane definable by a first normal that is pitched with respect to the rod axis such that light propagating by total internal reflection between the first and second ends that impinges on the interface defined by the rod-element material and air at the first planar face is redirected by at least one of (i) reflection and (ii) refraction. Refracted components of light exit the rod body through the first planar face and reflected components of light exit the rod body through the side surface.

  • Publication number: 20020078814
Abstract: A method of, and apparatus for, forming a tear seam in an interior panel of a motor vehicle comprising the steps of securing the interior panel in a workstation with the inner surface of the interior panel being exposed; and moving knife means across the inner surface to form a tear seam which is substantially V-shaped in cross-section. Achieves accurate positioning the tear seam.

  • Patent number: 6283256
Abstract: A holding spring arrangement for a spot-type disc brake, in particular an integrated disc brake for automotive vehicles, wherein a brake carrier of the disc brake is integrated into the steering knuckle of the vehicle, and the holding spring includes at least one spring arm which extends generally in a circumferential direction and clamps the housing of the disc brake and the brake carrier to one another in a radial direction. To largely prevent tilting of the outward brake pad, according to the present invention, a holding element is provided for mounting the housing holding spring on the brake pad, which holding element is particularly made of sheet metal and supported on a part of the brake housing.

  • Patent number: 5887102
Abstract: A multi input fiber optic apparatus for cooperating with a plurality of sources, the apparatus having output ends of the individual fiber optics disposed in a random pattern, wherein a dimension of the linear array is broken into sub-lengths and each sub-length has a number of input bundles corresponding to the number of inputs for the apparatus. The input bundles are randomized at the output ends within each sub-length. The apparatus includes a housing for supporting a plurality of randomized sub lengths disposed adjacent each other within the housing, wherein each sub length includes a plurality of sub-bundles, the number of sub-bundles equaling or corresponding to the number of sources, and a plurality of inputs optical connected to the sub lengths, each of the inputs including a sub-bundle from each sub-length.
