  • Patent number: 9218378
Abstract: A method of sorting a database of records and data items, in which each record has an identifier, data variables and paths pointing to data items being the value of the data variables is disclosed. The database has a first and second frequency for each path of the first and second data variables, respectively. The method includes creating an intermediate array having a section for each value of the second data variable. Storing the identifier of each record. Creating a final array having sections for each value of the first data variable. Storing the identifier of the records into the section of the final array corresponding to the value of its first data variable. Identifying break points in the final array. Repeating the previous two steps for each section of the intermediate array. Creating a break point index.

  • Patent number: 8706779
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes storing a first data table entry applying a schema used at a first point in time along with pointer data and pattern space information collectively representing the first data table entry at the first point in time and generating, at a later point in time, a map responsive to a schema change. The map comprises new pointer data or new pattern space information.

Inventors: Andrew David Ben-Dyke, Thomas Benjamin Longshaw
  • Patent number: 8386436
Abstract: One embodiment operates a computer system for storing and retrieving data from a data store. The computer system has a data manager device operable to manage patterns in the stored data along with pointers relating to the patterns in a manner which enables reconstruction of the stored data in original form.

  • Patent number: 7194456
Abstract: A method of querying a structure of compressed data comprising records stored as a forest of binary includes the step of generating an instruction set allowing a specified data value with a binary tree to be retrieved, given input of an address in memory that identifies the binary tree. Further querying functions which utilise the instruction set allow selection of records on the basis of one or more specified data values, or ranges of data values, statistical analysis of records and grouping of records on the basis of common data values within fields of records.
