  • Patent number: 8949606
Abstract: A method transmits a message between a transmitter and a receiver on a bus using an identifier associated with the transmitter/receiver path for the purpose of authentication and a message counter. The identifier is dynamically selected from an identification sequence depending on the message counter value and is integrated into the message check sum but not transmitted via the bus. A control device and a vehicle are adapted to carry out the method for transmitting a message.

    Filed: June 18, 2010
Date of Patent: February 3, 2015
Assignees: Audi AG, Volkswagen AG, TTTech Computertechnik AG
Inventors: Sven Schachtner, Thomas Bizenberger, Bernhard Gstoettenbauer

  • Patent number: 6768937
Abstract: A method is for regulating the speed of an automobile and the distance of the automobile from at least one automobile driving in front during a docking process, the driving speed of the automobile being greater than that of the automobile in front. According to the method, a detection device with a distance sensor is used to determine at least the speed of the automobile, the relative speed and the distance from the automobile in front, and the value of a normal acceleration for a braking operation of the vehicle is calculated according to the difference between a predetermined normal desired following distance and the distance and the relative speed.

  • Patent number: 6493625
Abstract: A method for controlling the speed of a motor vehicle and the distance of a motor vehicle to at least one motor vehicle driving ahead includes the steps of: inputting a setpoint trailing distance to the motor vehicle driving ahead; determining, in accordance with at least one detector, at least the speed of the motor vehicle, the distance, and the speed relative to the motor vehicle driving ahead; decelerating or accelerating the motor vehicle in response to the detected distance deviating from the setpoint trailing distance; calculating, in response to the motor vehicle driving ahead being lost from the detection range of the detector (target loss), the speed of the motor vehicle driving ahead from the relative speed determined prior to losing the target; and calculating the actual distance from the driving speed of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5592815
Abstract: For continuous and accurate monitoring of the conversion rate of an exhaust catalyst during operation of an internal combustion engine, temperature values are determined at two measuring points upstream and downstream of the catalyst in the direction of exhaust gas flow. In order to obtain an evaluatable signal difference at all times, at least one of the measured exhaust gas temperature values is filtered so that the temperature value obtained assures a reliable temperature difference with respect to the other temperature value at all times. The actual temperature difference value obtained in this way is compared with a desired temperature difference value generated by a three-dimensional desired value characteristic map and is checked with the aid of a plausibility check.
