Publication number: 20240153320Abstract: Disclosed herein is a test rover apparatus, a test system and a test method using the test rover apparatus. For example, the test rover apparatus is provided with a chassis that is configured to support an object representing a mobile actor, and a motor that is coupled to at least one wheel. At least one spring is coupled between the at least one wheel and the chassis to: bias the at least one wheel to extend out of the cavity to engage an underlying surface, and compress in response to a load being applied to the top of the chassis thereby retracting the at least one wheel into the cavity. A controller is configured to control the motor to drive the at least one wheel to propel the chassis along a predetermined route that is based on simulation data and corresponds to a maneuver of the mobile actor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2022Publication date: May 9, 2024Applicant: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Thomas Daniel MCMENAMIN, JR., Raymond LEONARD, Michael BRANDL, Timothy RIGGS, Sean William SHAWGO, Dustin Ryan YAUTZ

Patent number: 11840952Abstract: An aftertreatment device includes flow guides disposed within a dosing conduit. Exhaust enters through a perforated region of the dosing conduit and passes through the flow guides. The flow guides induce swirling or other turbulence to mix injected reactant with the exhaust gas. Various types of flow guides include cantilevered vanes, guide passageways, and louvered openings of a second conduit. Some types of flow guides induce localized mixing to inhibit deposit formation at the doser mounting unit. Other types of flow guides induce mixing downstream of the dosing conduit.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2020Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: Donaldson Company, Inc.Inventors: Matthew S. Whitten, Todd R. Taubert, Derek M. Larsen, Korneel De Rudder, Mark Thomas Brandl
