  • Patent number: 11246766
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for making a nonwoven fabric comprising forming polymer fibers from a melt of the polymer material and using these fibers to obtain a nonwoven fabric during a subsequent nonwoven fabric formation procedure, wherein the melt of the polymer material comprises a melt additive, wherein the method comprises thermal bonding at a temperature higher than 40° C. below the melting point of the polymer material and, additionally, one or both of the following steps: a. improving the mobility of the additive by heat-treating the nonwoven fabric at 100° C. or more for 0.1 seconds or more after the nonwoven fabric formation procedure and/or including a filler having a higher thermal conductivity than the polymer material to the polymer material; b. influencing the polymer crystallinity by including a nucleating agent, branched polymers and/or random co-polymers to the polymer material.

  • Patent number: 11021821
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for making a spunbonded high loft nonwoven web comprising crimped multicomponent fibers, the process comprising continuously spinning the fibers, directing the fibers to a spin-belt by deflectors and/or air streams, laying down the fibers on the spinbelt and pre-consolidating the fibers after laydown using one or more pre-consolidation rollers to form a pre-consolidated web, wherein a first component of the fibers comprises a PP homopolymer and a second component of the fibers comprises a PP/PE copolymer, wherein the pre-consolidation rollers are operated at a temperature of smaller 110° C. and/or a linear contact force of smaller 5 N/mm.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 28, 2019
Date of Patent: June 1, 2021
Assignees: FIBERTEX PERSONAL CARE A/S, REIFENHAUSER GMBH & CO. KG MASCHINENFABRIK
Inventors: Morten Rise Hansen, Thomas Broch, Sebastian Sommer
  • Patent number: 11021820
Abstract: The invention relates to a fabric comprising at least one high loft spunbond nonwoven layer having crimped multicomponent fibers, wherein a first component of the multicomponent fibers comprises a first polymer A and a second component of the multicomponent fibers comprises a blend of the first polymer A and a second polymer B, wherein the melt flow rate of polymer A is at least 25% higher than the melt flow rate of polymer B and wherein the second component comprises at least 40 wt.-% of polymer B.
