  • Publication number: 20030190710
Abstract: The present invention provides a method to control the level of non-glycosylated heavy chain variant of an IgG in a CHO cell culture process by adjusting temperature and batched medium osmolality.

  • Patent number: 6571646
Abstract: A metered torque wrench for applying a measured torque to a shaft including an elongated housing enclosing a spring being a stack of resilient metal strips. One end of the stack is secured to one end of the housing. The other end of the stack is secured to a coupler journalled into another end of the housing. A dial plate has a scale and is mounted on the coupler adjacent the another end of the housing. When torque is applied by turning the housing with coupler mounted on the shaft, the magnitude of torque is indicated by displacement of a marker on the edge of the housing relatie to the origin of the dial scale. A floating ring retains the torque reading after the torque has been removed.

  • Patent number: 5975119
Abstract: Apparatus for conducting fluid and preventing its icing have a fluid line structure and a tubular fluid line element located in that fluid line structure and having a cross-section sufficient for a desired throughput of fluid. A heater element is located inside the fluid line structure and is in heat-transfer relationship with an inside of the tubular fluid line element. Such heater element may be an electric heater element inside the fluid line structure encompassing the tubular fluid line element in heat-transfer relationship with an inside of that tubular fluid line element. A frangible or other fluid line nipple may be removably connected to the fluid line structure, and the tubular fluid line element may extend from that fluid line structure to that fluid line nipple. A heat transfer reduction may be provided between the electric heater element and the fluid line structure outside of the tubular fluid line element.

  • Patent number: 5683077
Abstract: A handle for a machinists vise configured to preset the maximum clamping force that can be applied to the vise jaws constructed such that, in tightening the vise, when a clamping force is applied by the operator to the handle equal to a preset value, a clutching mechanism in the handle will allow the handle to slip without further tightening of the vise. The mechanism includes a ratchet for positive engagement in loosening the vise and for providing a clicking sound that the clutch is slipping and thereby alert the operator that maximum clamping force is being applied.

  • Patent number: 4111668
Abstract: A fused abrasive grain, useful for inclusion in coated abrasives and bonded abrasives, consists essentially of alumina; titanium oxide containing from about 0.42 to about 0.84% titanium, by weight of the abrasive grain, present as a reduced titanium oxide having an average oxidation state lower than in Ti.sub.2 O.sub.3 ; from about 0.05 to about 0.3% by weight carbon; from about 0.02 to about 0.1% by weight Na.sub.2 O; and from 0 to about 0.1% by weight total of calcium and silicon oxides. The grain before roasting has a gain on ignition of from about 0.4 to about 0.7% by weight, and is produced in an electric furnace by fusing high-purity titania, alumina containing Na.sub.2 O as the only significant oxide impurity, and carbon, followed by crushing and roasting the fused grain.

  • Patent number: 3969859
Abstract: A log structure for prefabricated log sections suitable for constructing log buildings is shown herein. The log section has a substantially flat longitudinal upper surface. A pair of spaced parallel longitudinal tongues is formed in the middle portion of the upper surface and these tongues extend radially upwardly from the upper surface. Also, two raised platforms are formed on the longitudinal edge portions of the upper surface. The platforms have a substantially flat upper face. The log section also has a flat lower surface with a pair of spaced parallel longitudinal channels formed in the middle portion therein. The channels have a complementary cross sectional configuration equal to that of the tongues and have cross sectional dimensions at equal to or larger than that of the tongues. A center bore is formed throughout the entire length of the log section. A circular groove and two diametrically opposite radial grooves are formed at the end surfaces of the log section.
