Abstract: A door alarm system with a housing, which can be fastened to the inside of a door, with an alarm device, an activation/deactivation switch device, and a door opening sensor, wherein the activation/deactivation switch device includes a radio receiver with at least one associated portable transmitter for switching the activation/deactivation switch device to the deactivated state by a corresponding radio signal, wherein the activation/deactivation switch device includes a proximity sensor for detecting a person approaching the housing and is configured so that when a person is detected, the activation/deactivation switch device can be switched to the deactivated state. A method for controlling a door alarm system is also disclosed.
