  • Patent number: 9961544
Abstract: The disclosure includes a system including media assets and an access system. The media assets include standard media and restricted media. The restricted media is different from the standard media. The access system receives an accessory identifier from a client device communicatively coupled to an accessory associated with the accessory identifier. The access system further authorizes access for the client device to the restricted media based at least in part on the accessory identifier. The standard media is accessible to the client device regardless of the access system receiving the accessory identifier. The restricted media is not accessible to the client device when the access system has not received the accessory identifier.

  • Publication number: 20160353191
Abstract: Headphones include removable audio drivers electrically coupled with electrical conductors using solderless and detachable interconnections. Driver assemblies for headphones include an audio driver and a driver unit housing. An acoustical cavity is defined between the driver unit housing and the audio driver, and a port extends through the driver unit housing between the acoustical cavity and the exterior of the driver assembly. The driver unit housing is configured to be secured within an outer ear-cup housing of a headphone such that the port is open to the exterior of the headphone without communicating acoustically with a volume outside the driver unit housing and within the outer ear-cup housing. Headphones include such driver assemblies. Methods are used to form such headphones and driver assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7093330
Abstract: A snap-hook that has a hook, forming a portion of an eye loop, and a lever that is pivotally movable relative to the hook. The lever forms a remaining portion of said eye loop with respect to the hook. A thumb tab is connected to the lever, and is positioned in a slot defined in the hook. The thumb tab is slidable in the slot relative to the hook, forming a release mechanism, such that the sliding movement of the thumb tab in the slot causes the lever to pivot relative to the hook to open said eye loop. The snap-hook has essentially broad, opposing, front and back sides, and relatively narrower edges, such that the back side of the snap-hook can be placed into the palm of a user's hand to hold the snap. The thumb tab is located on the front side of the snap-hook to allow simpler holding of the snap-hook and operation of the release mechanism with one hand while essentially eliminating swiveling of the snap-hook in the hand.

  • Publication number: 20050057023
Abstract: An airbag assembly that includes an inflatable curtain and a stiffening member is disclosed. The stiffening member is attached at or near the top end of the curtain. Such attachment may be accomplished via a variety of methods including fasteners, mounting brackets, sewing, inserting the stiffening member into a pocket in the curtain, or by passing one or more of the curtain's attachment tabs through slits located on the stiffening member. The stiffening member is designed to extend along at least a portion of the longitudinal length of the inflatable curtain. In one embodiment, the stiffening member is constructed to resist twisting of the inflatable curtain along a portion of the longitudinal length. In an alternative embodiment, the stiffening member is constructed such that when the inflatable curtain is twisted, the stiffening member deforms the inflatable curtain such that the curtain cannot be installed onto a vehicle interior without first correcting the deformation.

  • Publication number: 20050052054
Abstract: An energy-absorbing bracket is disclosed for use in a vehicle to absorb the impact of a vehicle occupant with an interior surface of the vehicle such as a vehicular pillar, an interior trim panel, and other potential areas of contact. The brackets of the invention generally include an anchor plate configured to allow attachment of the bracket to a surface, an extension arm extending from the anchor plate; and a support foot linked to the extension arm. The energy-absorbing brackets of the invention are generally incompletely tubular in nature, and configured to deform when impacted to dissipate impact energy and assume a configuration adapted to absorb additional impact energy.

  • Patent number: 5052395
Abstract: A cardiac output measurement device for the real-time, non-invasive measurement of cardiac output that can be effectively operated by relatively unskilled personnel on a routine monitoring basis in a wide variety of office and hospital conditions. To accomplish this task, the system utilizes a pulsed Doppler ultrasound transducer directed through the suprasternal notch of a patient axially towards the blood flow in the ascending aorta. The device automatically searches the ascending aorta at various predetermined depths to find the depth at which the greatest quality blood velocity reading is detected. An examination is performed at that chosen depth and the device automatically calculates a patient's cardiac output from the Doppler measured velocity combined with an aortic diameter estimation made from the patient's height, weight, and age. The device automatically calculates cardiac velocity, cardiac index, stroke distance, heart rate, and stroke volume.

  • Patent number: 4665912
Abstract: A skin marking device comprising a finger-held tubular barrel having a narrow opening at one end, and a needle carried in the barrel and having a pointed end extending outwardly through the narrow barrel opening, the needle and opening forming an annular flow passage. A dye is carried within the barrel in flow communication with the annular flow passage to provide dye to the end of the barrel from when it may be drawn by contact with the skin to be marked. In one embodiment, the needle may be axially moved between extended and retracted positions.

  • Patent number: 4662890
Abstract: A tubular prosthesis comprising a tube having an inner end securable deeply within an outwardly-open body opening and an outer end affixed to a mounting plate. The outer tube end may be everted upon a circumferentially positioned rigid ring, the thus enlarged tube end bearing against an orifice formed in the mounting plate. A forwardly-facing bore formed in the plate coaxial with the orifice is sized to snugly receive the enlarged end of the tube. A disclosed embodiment utilizes a pair of tubes coaxially joined within the bore of the plate, one tube end being everted upon a rigid supporting ring and the everted end being received within the open adjacent end of the outermost tube. The plate may have securing means for holding the outer tube in a sealed, folded back orientation.

  • Patent number: 4283099
Abstract: A cabinet, which may have a drawer, is assembled within a locker having side and rear walls and converging front flanges defining a door opening. The cabinet is provided with vertical side panels and at least one horizontal shelf panel. For assembly, the side panels are positioned within the locker against the side walls of the locker, and the shelf panel is mounted between the side panels to space the side panels a sufficient distance so as to prevent the cabinet from being withdrawn from the locker because of the restricted passageway provided by the locker flanges. The cabinet may have a drawer slideable between two parallel, vertically spaced shelf panels, the drawer having a width enabling it to be withdrawn through the door opening of the locker. Disclosed also are bracket means and bracket receiving means enabling ready assembly of the cabinet within a locker.
