    Abstract: An apparatus and method of using the apparatus to join hull plates of a ship's hull includes forming a flat plate to match three-dimensional contours of a ship or boat hull. The apparatus including a pair of angularly adjustable arms attached at a pivot point, an angle adjusting mechanism to adjust an angle between the arms, an anchoring member on distal ends of each of the arms to secure the applicator bar in a fixed position relative to the boat member, and a plurality of extendable pressing members attached along a length of the arms to engage the structural plate.
