Abstract: A method of packaging a convertible couch into a box includes forming a frame assembly. Forming the frame assembly includes coupling a plurality of arms, a first seat portion, a second seat portion, a first back portion, and a second back portion together. A plurality of pillows and at least one back cushion are positioned within the frame assembly. The frame assembly is positioned into the box after assembly and a divider is placed on top of the frame assembly. A first mattress roll is formed and then a second mattress roll is formed. The first mattress roll and the second mattress roll are placed on the divider in the box and the box is closed and sealed.

Abstract: Knock down sectional couches and related wedge sections and methods. In accordance with an example, a knock down wedge section for use with a sectional couch includes a wedge-shaped seat and a pair of back sections. The wedge-shaped seat having a front portion, a back portion including a first back portion and a second back portion, and lateral portions. Each of the first back portion and the second back portion carries a pair of male knock down bracket portions. Each back section carries a pair of female knock down bracket portions. Each female knock down bracket portion is adapted to receive and form a coupling with a corresponding male knock down bracket portion.

Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a linkage base adapted to be secured to a portion of a furniture sidewall, an elongate first linkage arm, and an elongate second linkage arm. The hinge assembly may also include an insert member assembly that includes an elongate first insert member, an elongate second insert member, a pivot assembly to pivotably couple the first insert member to the second insert member, and an insert linkage arm that is coupled to the first insert member. The first linkage arm and the second linkage arm are each pivotally coupled to the linkage base and the insert linkage arm. The first insert member may be releasably coupled to a first rear receiving member secured to a first furniture portion and the second insert member may be releasably coupled to a first front receiving member secured to a second furniture portion.

Abstract: An easy-to-assemble sofa along with a method of packaging its components so as to consume the smallest possible space during shipping. The sofa includes arms and rails that may be assembled to form a frame. A seat deck and rear deck are installed to the arms and rails. Cushions are placed atop the seat deck, and foam cushions are placed in front of the rear deck to form the sofa's seating surfaces. To conserve space during shipping, the compressible seat cushions and rear cushions are placed between the rigid seat deck and rear deck. The entire assembly is banded with woven bands to maintain it in a compact compressed condition during shipping, which may all be in a single cardboard container. This method of packing allows the parts of the sofa to be packed in as compact a container as possible, saving money on shipping and storage.

Abstract: A modular mattress system having at least one mattress block which includes an array of resilient coil springs, along with a foam pad, and a washable/dryable fabric mattress cover. The components of the modular mattress system are compressible into an air evacuable bag for purposes of storing, shipping, and disposal. The size, firmness, type of foam pad, pattern and color of the fabric mattress cover, and type of securable seam available for the fabric mattress cover used in the modular mattress system may be specified by the consumer. Mattress size ranges from Crib size through King size, with custom sizes available as well. Various methods of specifying, ordering, and distributing the modular mattress system are detailed. The care, maintenance, assembly and usage of the modular mattress system are discussed.
