  • Publication number: 20080289695
Abstract: This invention relates to a heat activated shut-off device for gas and liquid flows in fuel supply lines and consists of a housing with a longitudinal void therethrough for fluid passage. A valve seat within the longitudinal void and a spring biased piston slidably carried within the housing when in bearing engagement, will shut-off the flow of fluid. A eutectic metal fuse which is temperature sensitive and fails at a pre-determined temperature extends in part externally of the external surface of the housing and couples with a flow indicator carried adjacent the housing external surface. Coupling of the eutectic metal fuse and flow indicator exposes the eutectic metal fuse at least in part to ambient air. The flow indicator is rotatable upon displacement of the piston. Failure of the eutectic metal fuse results in the uncoupling of the flow indicator that permits the spring to displace the piston into the valve and consequently rotate the flow indicator to another position thereby evidencing shut-off.

  • Publication number: 20040123470
Abstract: This invention consists of a bias adjustable impact scraping tool that has a bias spring selectively positionable in a first region or a second region respectively for biasing or un-biasing a cutting blade for scraping material from surfaces when the surface is above or below the cutting blade. A ramming member for transmitting externally applied thrust forces to a scraping member is telescopically and slidably mounted to the scraping member which may be biased or un-biased relative to the ramming member by selectively positioning the bias spring. A removably mounted partition sleeve located within the ramming member partitions the ramming member into first and second regions. When the bias spring is held within the first region, the scraping member is biased by the bias spring to remain distally extended during a thrust cycle of the tool thereby urging the cutting blade to remain in contact with the surface.

  • Publication number: 20010000859
Abstract: A hot stamping cylinder for webs includes a mounting cylinder, a longitudinal channel extending running along the substantial entirety of the length thereof. A flexible substrate plate includes a leading edge flange substantially parallel to the flexible substrate plate and offset a distance substantially equal to the depth of the channel. A trailing edge flange is also provided which is substantially parallel to the flexible substrate plate and offset a distance substantially equal to the depth of the channel. A layer of silicone material is positioned on the flexible substrate plate where the layer of silicone material has a relief pattern thereon which corresponds to a desired stamping pattern. A longitudinal clamp resides in the channel and retains the leading edge flange and the trailing edge flange within the channel thereby securing the substrate plate, with silicone relief pattern thereon, to the mounting cylinder in preparation for use in a web hot stamp operation.

  • Patent number: 5388576
Abstract: A pulmonary resuscitator is set forth of the type having a compressible bladder to be depressed to supply air to a mask. Both the compressible bladder and mask have integral therewith a network of inflatable tubes which when pressurized resiliently rigidify the bladder and mask to establish nominal erected bladder and mask shapes. The bladder has an inlet check valve and the mask has an outlet check valve where the outlet check valve utilizes a flapper valve for permitting flow of fluid into the mask upon depression of the bladder. Exhaust ports are located adjacent the flapper valve and are closed by the flapper valve when the bladder is depressed. The exhaust ports are opened when the flapper valve closes as the bladder returns to its nominal shape after being depressed. An air spring contained within the bladder chamber is in fluid communication with the network of inflatable tubes and through limiting orifices controls the rate at which the bladder returns to its nominal shape after depression.

  • Patent number: 5010647
Abstract: An improved impact scraping tool for scraping material from surfaces is set forth having a ramming member for transmitting externally applied thrust forces to a thrust member which is slidably mounted to the ramming member for relative motion therewith. The ramming member has a discontinuity in cross-section which when engaged by the thrust member stops the relative motion between the members and results in a transfer of the momentum of the ramming member to the thrust member. A blade support plate having lateral grooves in its upper and under surfaces is carried by the thrust member and clamped to a pair of T-shaped claims which have laterally extending shoulders for engagement into the grooves. Material scraped from surfaces is precluded from wedging between the clamps and the blade support plate which prolongs the life of the scraping tool.

  • Patent number: 4579114
Abstract: A disposable mouth to mouth resuscitation device includes a one way valve for preventing the victim's breath, saliva, mucus or disease agents from contact with the resuscitator's mouth or respiratory tract. The one way valve is in a plastic body from which extends a curved airway tube for placing in the victim's mouth. At the other end of the plastic body is a flexible tube leading to a mouth piece at its opposing end, for insertion into the mouth of the resuscitator. A mouth and nose mask is connected to the plastic body, adjacent to the curved airway tube, for sealing over the nose and mouth of the victim during resuscitation. When the victim exhales, his breath and other exhaled materials are exhausted through a side port in the plastic body and into the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4280777
Abstract: Apparatus adapted to be attached to the boom arms of a conventional tractor supported front end loader for use in engaging, lifting, unrolling and performing other handling requirements of a large rolled round bale of hay. The apparatus includes frame elements designed to be operatively and removably secured to the boom arms of a front end loader to provide operating support for a pair of horizontally spaced and adjustable bale clamping arms, with an actuator operatively connected to the bale clamping arms and operable of effecting adjustment of the bale clamping arms between a closed bale clamping position and an open bale release and receiving position. A pair of disk elements are coaxially and rotatably mounted on the extended ends of the bale clamping arms and detailed to include bale engaging projections whereby a bale can be engaged and rotatably supported by the disk elements between the clamping arms.
