  • Patent number: 5259341
Abstract: A hydro injection system for generating steam from the heat exchanged between a stream of hot combustion gases and a countercurrent flow of warm water sprays which contact hot tubes transporting the hot combustion gases is disclosed. The system comprisesi. a continuous supply of hot combustion gases and means for propelling the gases through the system;ii. a continuous supply of cold water and means for warming said cold water prior to steam generation;iii. a pressure vessel means for conducting the heat exchange; andiv. a condensate receiver means for recirculating and equilibrating water in the system.

  • Patent number: 4941435
Abstract: An improved system for preventing low-water or "dry-boiler" failures which includes automatically flushing the low-water cut-off control valve and monitoring the external temperature of the boiler jacket so as to shut off the burners of the boiler, when such external temperature exceeds a pre-determined maximum, is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4462542
Abstract: An auxiliary heating system for providing energy to a furnace and a domestic hot water heater. A heat transfer fluid is contained within a storage tank and is automatically routed between a heat exchanger located in an auxiliary heater, such as a fireplace or a wood burning stove, and a furnace as typically employed in a home or the like. The furnace may be a forced air system or a hydronic boiler system. In response to the sensed condition of the fire within the auxiliary heater and the demands of the furnace control thermostat, the heat transfer fluid is automatically circulated through one of a plurality of flow circuits so that the available energy contained in the fluid is used in the most efficient manner. A preheat coil is immersed in the storage tank through which domestic water is passed prior to its being delivered into the water heater.
