  • Publication number: 20140262101
Abstract: A method of forming a mold for use in the casting of a steel railway freight car truck component is provided. A cope mold is formed by providing a near net shape oversize impression of a cope pattern of a product to be cast in a flask. A cope pattern of the product to be cast is then placed on the flask forming a spacing between the cope pattern and the oversize impression. A resin coated sand is then blown to form a sand layer between the oversized impression in the flask and the cope pattern. The resin sand is set to form a mold of a thickness between the oversized impression in the flask and the cope pattern of the product to be cast. The drag mold is formed in a similar manner.

  • Patent number: 8403250
Abstract: A hose reel device is disclosed for supporting and transporting a hose. The hose reel device comprises a frame. A support beam extends within the frame. A spool includes a hub interposed between a first flange plate and a second flange plate for winding the hose on the spool. The hub of the spool rotatably engages the support beam for rotating the spool relative to the frame. The hub of the spool and the frame define a perpendicular angle. A wheel rotatably engages the frame for transporting the hose reel device over a surface in an oblique position and pivoting the spool between a horizontal position and a vertical position relative to the surface. The horizontal position defines a first optimal position for winding the hose about the spool. The vertical position defines a second optimal position for propelling a fluid between a holding tank and a storage tank.

  • Publication number: 20060219954
Abstract: An ion implanter includes a source of a stationary, planar ion beam, a set of beamline components that steer the ion beam along a normal beam path as determined by first operating parameter values, an end station that mechanically scans the wafer across the normal beam path, and control circuitry that responds to a glitch in the ion beam during implantation pass to (1) immediately alter an operating parameter of at least one of the beamline components to a second value to direct the ion beam away from the normal beam path and thereby cease implantation at an implantation transition location on the wafer, (2) subsequently move the wafer to an implantation-resuming position in which the implantation transition location on the wafer lies directly on the normal path of the ion beam, and (3) return the operating parameter to its first value to direct the ion beam along the normal beam path and resume ion implantation at the implantation transition location on the wafer.

  • Patent number: 4898544
Abstract: A printed circuit board interconnect system having flat or ribbon cable folded in a pattern and supported in that pattern so that a large number of boards in an upper rack can be connected each by a respective cable to corresponding boards among a large number of boards in a lower rack in an orderly fashion while preserving the pin orientation for the boards. The cables are each folded at the ends in right angle bends that convert the horizontal direction to vertical but reverses the conductor orientation. In a central portion of the vertical extending cable, it is folded in two further right angle bends and mid way between them with a 180 degree bend. The central bend reestablishes the conductor orientation. A multi-row comb serves to support the ribbon cable in the central region and keep one cable separate from another.

  • Patent number: 4278691
Abstract: An infusion bag is disclosed wherein granular coffee is contained in a water-permeable portion which is attached to a water-reservoir portion whereby water passes downwardly in a positive manner from the reservoir into the receptacle to contact the granules and then the coffee brew is passed outwardly from the receptacle. Strings attached to the receptacle permit positive opening and closing of the receptacle with positive water action through the bag. The infusion bag is particularly suited to brewing coffee from ground coffee beans.
