  • Publication number: 20070040946
Abstract: A display processor integrated circuit includes a display processor portion and an on-chip programmable logic portion. The programmable logic portion can be configured to implement custom video and/or image enhancement functions. The display processor portion performs block-based motion detection. If no motion is detected for a given block of pixels, then interline gaps in the block are filled using temporal interpolation. If motion is detected, then interline gaps are filled using spatial interpolation. To maintain accuracy without unduly increasing computational complexity, a less complex high angle spatial interpolation method is employed where a low angle tilt condition is not detected. A more computationally intensive low angle spatial interpolation method can therefore be employed in low angle tilt conditions. Integrated circuit cost is reduced by employing pipelining to write parts of segment buffers at the same time that other parts are being read to perform the interpolation process.

  • Publication number: 20050041149
Abstract: A method is disclosed whereby an inexpensive integrated circuit is provided for use in high volume electronic consumer devices of different makes, wherein each different make must perform a different special function. A common function required in all the different makes is realized in a substantially non-customizable portion. A dense mask-programmable portion is provided for realizing a special function. Interface circuitry is provided that enables an external FPGA to perform the special function at system operating speeds during system development. After system development, the circuitry implemented in the external FPGA is technology-mapped to the mask-programmable portion. A single mask is fashioned such that versions of the integrated circuit are produced with their mask-programmable portions customized to perform the special function.

  • Patent number: 5660605
Abstract: A window fan incorporating a filter. The fan has a low, flat profile for fitting in a window while occupying limited viewing area of the window. The fan includes laterally projecting extensions for sealing a gap which might otherwise exist at the right and left sides of the fan. The fan includes a motorized squirrel cage blower for forcing air through a flow path defined within the window fan. The blower is elongated, and oriented with its rotational axis arranged horizontally to enable the low profile. The filter is washable, and is installed by sliding into a holding chamber, and located serially within the air flow path. The window fan has a manually adjustable air deflector for directing discharged air as desired. The electrical circuit conducting power to the motor includes a touch sensitive switch for on-off control, a thermostatic switch for operating the fan when the touch switch is on and a predetermined temperature is detected, a speed selector switch, and an indicating lamp.

  • Patent number: 5280623
Abstract: An improved computer system bus is disclosed that transitions between addressed data transfers and handshake data transfers on the fly and that performs burst within dynamic data sizing during a data transfer sequence without prematurely terminating the sequence and that changes between synchronous and asynchronous data transfer sequences on the fly. These capabilities are accomplished by modifying the function of bus signal lines depending upon the type of transfer sequence undertaken. On the fly transition between addressed data transfer and handshake data transfer is accomplished by providing a set of DMA acknowledge signals and modifying their function according to the type of data transfer sequence underway. Burst within dynamic data sizing during a sequence is performed by taking advantage of burst transfer capabilities of the slave device, and the capability of the master device to modify data width on the fly.

  • Patent number: 4844397
Abstract: An intravenous pole clamp contains a locking mechanism which employs a spring clutch. The clamp body has an attachment for a medical device and a chamber for receiving an I-V pole. A threaded stud is rotated inwardly to clamp the I-V pole. A spring having one fixed end and one free end is threaded onto the shaft of the threaded stud. A locking mechanism allows the free end of the spring to be unrestrained in a locked position. When unlocked, a pin of the locking mechanism slightly unwinds and restrains the free end of the spring freeing the threaded stud to rotate in either an inward or an outward direction. In a locked position, the threaded stud can rotate inwardly but if it is attempted to rotate it outwardly the spring clutches the threaded stud preventing outward rotation.
