  • Patent number: 11919086
Abstract: A multi-metallic pressure-controlling component and a hot isostatic pressure (HIP) manufacturing process and system are disclosed. An example multi-metallic component for use in the oil field services industry includes a first metal alloy that forms a first portion of the multi-metallic pressure-controlling component, and a second metal alloy that forms a second portion of the multi-metallic pressure-controlling component. A diffusion bond is disposed at an interface between the first metal alloy and the second metal alloy that joins the first metal alloy to the second metal alloy within the multi-metallic pressure-controlling component.

  • Publication number: 20180222583
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a booster aircraft system having a host aircraft and one or more booster UAVs coupled thereto. When necessary, such as during takeoff and climb of the host aircraft, the booster UAVs operate to boost the thrust of the host aircraft. The booster UAVs are configured to detach from the host aircraft when no longer needed (e.g., at cruising altitude/speed), thus removing their weight from the host aircraft. Each booster UAV includes wings, one or more propulsors, a control system, and landing gear, which enable the booster UAV to return autonomously to a predetermined location once detached from the host aircraft to be refueled and reused.

  • Patent number: 9010683
Abstract: The present invention's side-arm recovery system enables large Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) to operate from small vessels or from ground sites with a minimal footprint. The side-arm recovery system allows arresting an UAS independent of a runway. On the ground or on a ship, the system makes use of a specialized crane system that includes capture and energy absorption devices. A fuselage-mounted top hook snags a horizontal cable and the arresting forces act in the plane of symmetry through the central structure of the UAS. After the capture energy is absorbed, the recovery system safely lowers the aerial vehicle to a ground handling cart. The same system can be combined into a launcher and retriever system which further reduces the footprint by eliminating the need for a separate launcher.

  • Publication number: 20080126406
Abstract: An object-based modeling system, method and computer apparatus models a real life process. They include model objects that represent resources used by the modeled process, and an agent link associated with each model object. Each agent link determines the status of one or more resources, and exercises control over them. A solution domain is defined in which one or more model objects is stored. A set of rules is associated with the model objects, and is applied to the objects.

  • Publication number: 20070245074
Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides low latency, high capacity rings by combining a low latency memory with a higher latency memory. A small capacity, low latency memory, referred to as the ring buffer is used to store the head of the ring. If the ring buffer allocated to a given ring becomes full, data at the tail of the ring is spilled out to higher latency memory. When space becomes available in the ring buffer as a result of data being removed from the head of the ring, spilled data from the higher latency memory is refilled to low latency memory.
