  • Patent number: 12645052
Abstract: A system and methods for performing focus tuning of an imaging system. The method includes an image sensor capturing a first image of a focus triggering marker. A processor identifies the focus triggering marker in the first image and responsive to identifying the focus triggering marker the system enters a configuration mode and provides a time delay. After passage of the time delay, the system executes a focusing operation to focus the imaging assembly including determining a focus value based on one or more images captured in the configuration and after the time delay. A controller sets a focal distance of a tunable optical element according to the determined focus value. The imaging sensor then captures one or more images with the focal distance of the tunable optical element set to the determined focus value.

  • Patent number: 11868842
Abstract: A method, system and barcode reader for transmitting barcode scan information from a barcode reader to an external imaging system including one or more image capturing devices when the barcode reader is within a field of view of the external imaging system. Responsive to successfully decoding an indicia, the barcode reader transmits, to the external imaging system via an optical signal assembly, a first optical signal based at least in part on the indicia. Responsive to detecting an object within a product scanning region of the barcode reader and no successful decode of an indicia, the barcode reader transmits, to the external imaging system via the optical signal assembly, a second optical signal indicating the object being passed within the product scanning region with no successful decode.

  • Publication number: 20210272318
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing contextual configuration of an imaging scanner are disclosed. An example method includes an imaging scanner capturing an image of an object and providing the image to a trained neural network for classification. Configuration settings corresponding to the particular classification are determined, where those configuration settings are for operating the imaging scanner and are contextual to the object being scanned. The imaging scanner is configured based on the configuration settings, and the object is re-scanned under optimal configuration, for improved barcode reading or defect detection for machine vision systems.

  • Publication number: 20070297028
Abstract: Described is a system and device for monitoring a computing device. The system comprises a mobile host computing device and a portable peripheral device detachably coupled to the host device. The peripheral device includes a microprocessor and a sensor. When the peripheral device is coupled to the host device, the sensors detect changes of at least one of spatial orientation and motion of the host device to generate data. The microprocessor compares the data to predetermined calibration data to detect an occurrence of an event.

  • Publication number: 20060278715
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that facilitate configuration of a keypad by end users of the portable host device, via employing a mapping component that can map individual keys of the keypad to characters and/or functions predefined by a user (e.g., defined for the host unit via a proprietary application/software). The reconfigurable keypad of the present invention can provide for a one touch access to special characters and/or performance of predetermined functions designated by the user, and thus facilitates performances of customized functions that can be unique to the end users.
