Publication number: 20240133936Abstract: A system and method of automatically detecting electrical discharges in a gas insulated switchgear equipment and locating the electrical discharges in real-time is disclosed. The method includes sensing an ultra high frequency (UHF) signal generated from the electrical discharges at multiple channels simultaneously. The UHF signal sensed at multiple channels are reviewed simultaneously to determine whether they are of the same electrical discharge or not. The method also provides the sensed UHF signal at multiple channels to an artificial intelligence training model trained to determine the type of electrical discharge such as a partial discharge or an arc. The method provides a location of the electrical discharge based on an attenuation profile associated with the multiple channels and other information including amplitude information and distance information between adjacent channels.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Fraser COOK, Thomas LINN, Colin BROWN, Paul DONEGAN

Publication number: 20240123785Abstract: A joint assembly couples a linear actuator to a body. The joint assembly includes a first body having a first surface and a second body having a second surface. The first body is coupled with the second body. The first surface and the second surface have arcuate configurations that are complementary to facilitate rotation of the first body relative to the second body about a first axis, a second axis, orthogonal to the first axis, and a third axis, orthogonal to both the first axis and the second axis. The joint assembly also includes a damper disposed between the first body and the second body and configured to dampen translational motion of the first body toward the second body in response to movement of the linear actuator relative to the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2022Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Troy A. Patent number: 11914137Abstract: In one aspect, a light module is disclosed, which includes a housing providing a hollow chamber extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a lens positioned in the hollow chamber, where the lens has a lens body comprising an input surface for receiving light from a light source and an output surface through which light exits the lens body, said lens further comprising a collar at least partially encircling said lens body. The light module further includes at least one shoulder on which the lens collar can be seated for positioning the lens within the housing. A light source, e.g., an LED, is coupled to the hollow chamber, e.g., at its proximal end, for providing light to the lens. In some embodiments, an optical window is disposed in the hollow chamber and is optically coupled to the output surface of the lens such that the light exiting the lens passes through the optical window before exiting the light module. In some embodiments, the shoulder can be formed as part of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2022Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Acera, LLCInventors: Thomas V.
