    Abstract: A sleeve for an axle shaft assembly, which may be found in an automotive transmission, is provided. The sleeve includes a body that defines an axis of rotation about which the body is radially symmetric, an inner surface, and an outer surface. The body includes a first set of splines, a second set of splines, and a chamfered edge. The first set of splines protrude outward from the outer surface, and the first set of splines are spaced apart about the axis of rotation. The second set of splines protrude outward from the outer surface, and are spaced apart about the axis of rotation. The first set of splines is axially spaced apart from the second set of splines, along the axis of rotation. The chamfered edge extends from a leading edge of the first set of splines toward the outer surface, between the first and second set of splines.
