    Abstract: An aeration and filtering system for an aquarim includes a porous filter bed that is spaced above the tank bottom with pump means located in the chamber defined below the filter bed and having an upper inlet for receiving oxygen-enriched liquid from adjacent the liquid level in the tank and at the same time receiving oxygen-deficient liquid from adjacent the bottom of the tank. These two liquids are then mixed within the pump to provide an oxygen-enriched liquid which is fed through a discharge port that is directed generally parallel to the liquid level and slightly below to provide an exercising environment for aquatic life.
