  • Patent number: 4639971
Abstract: A door hinge shim for use with hinge mounted doors to control the spacing beween first and second members that are interconnected by a set of threaded fasteners. The shim plate has slots opening in one of its edges at locations to receive the shanks of the fasteners and a shim installing handle is formed integrally with the shim plate and extends outwardly therefrom to facilitate manipulation of the shim plate during installation. A line of weakness is formed in the handle at its juncture with the shim plate to facilitate breaking of the handle off the shim plate after installation. Teeth are provided on one or more of the slots in the shim plate to engage the shanks of the hinge plate mounting fastener and to hold the shim plate in adjusted position.

  • Patent number: 4567846
Abstract: A magnetically operated door chime adapted for mounting on a door and door frame. The door chime includes a casing adapted for mounting on the door frame and having a plunger assembly mounted for reciprocation along a horizontal path perpendicular to the plane of the door when the door is closed. The plunger assembly includes a first magnetic unit on its outer end arranged in face-to-face contact with a second magnetic unit on the door, when the door is closed. A chime bar extends across the path of movement of the other end of the plunger assembly and a spring yieldably biases the plunger assembly in a direction toward the chime bar.

  • Patent number: 4548846
Abstract: A press-on type finger pull for application to the face of glass panels and the like comprising a rigid body of transparent material having a mounting surface embossed in a pattern to define ridges separated by shallow recesses with the apices of the ridges coplanar. A thin preformed layer of pressure sensitive adhesive having a sheet of peelable cover material on one side has its other side adhered to the ridges of the embossed mounting surface and extends across the recesses above the base of the recesses to disperse air bubbles.

  • Patent number: 4394000
Abstract: A metal mirror mounting clip of the type having a back plate, a forwardly extending flange on one end of the back plate and lip on the forward edge of the flange. The back plate has a slot for receiving a headed mounting screw and a pair of integral mirror guide shoes spaced from opposite sides of the slot and defining guide surfaces spaced forwardly from the back plate a distance greater than the height of the head of the screw.

  • Patent number: 4356580
Abstract: A showcase lock for sliding doors including a keeper plate attached to one door and a lock adjustable along the keeper plate to lock the doors in a closed position. The keeper plate has inwardly directed flanges along opposite side edges defining opposed grooves and a row of stops between the flanges and the lock has outwardly directed flanges along opposite side edges slidably receivable in the opposed grooves on the keeper plate. The lock has a rotary key operated plug, a cam on the inner end of the plug, and a resilient U-shaped latch member mounted for rocking movement about an axis crosswise of the plug between a locked and an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 4238103
Abstract: A mirror mounting bracket including a stationary bracket member adapted for attachment to a wall and a movable bracket member having an integral mirror engaging hook. The bracket members each have a generally rectangular body portion and guides along opposite sides of the body portions slidably supporting the movable bracket member on the stationary bracket member with the body portions laterally spaced apart to provide a cavity therebetween. A spring member is positioned in the cavity crosswise of the path of movement with end portions of the spring attached to one bracket member and an intermediate portion engaged by the other bracket member to progressively distend the spring member in response to relative movement between the bracket members. The stationary bracket member has a screw receiving aperture in the body portion and can be directly mounrted on a wall surface.

  • Patent number: 3931723
Abstract: A lock for locking by-passing type slidable closure panels in a closed position with adjacent ends of the panels in spaced overlapping relation. The lock includes a lock housing mounted on one of the panels and having a lock plug mounted for axial sliding and rotary movement about an axis perpendicular to the panels, and an elongated keeper on the other of the panels. The lock plug has a rotary latch member on its forward end engageable with the keeper when the plug is extended and rotated to a preselected position to hold the plug in its extended position, and the plug also has latch means at its forward end engageable with the keeper to lock the plug and keeper against relative movement in one direction crosswise of the plug axis. The lock housing and keeper are advantageously adhesively secured to the inner and outer panels respectively so that the lock and keeper can be mounted without requiring drilling of the panels and the lock and keeper remain in position on the panels when unlocked.
