  • Patent number: 10597137
Abstract: Thermal insulators having cold side flap seals are described. An example thermal insulator includes a first thermal blanket and a second thermal blanket to be coupled to the first thermal blanket. The first thermal blanket includes a first insulation section, a flap, and a second insulation section. The flap extends laterally from the first insulation section and has a first portion laterally adjacent the first insulation section and a second portion laterally adjacent the first portion. The second insulation section is located on the first portion. The second thermal blanket includes a third insulation section, a fourth insulation section, and a seal. The fourth insulation section has a third portion laterally adjacent the third insulation section and a fourth portion laterally adjacent the third portion. The seal is to be compressed between the third portion and the second portion when the second thermal blanket is coupled to the first thermal blanket.

  • Patent number: 7144068
Abstract: A drive mechanism assembly for enabling driving and manual movement of a sliding side door. The assembly has a track assembly mounted to a vehicle body at a predetermined height and a drive mechanism mounted to the sliding side door so as to be proximate to a door latching mechanism. The drive mechanism has an input drive motor driving an output gear assembly engaging the track assembly and a transmission gear assembly with a sliding gear which selectively couples the input drive motor and an input gear assembly to the output gear assembly between an engaged position for driving movement or disengaged position for manual movement of the sliding side door. In this way, the slide side door may be moved manually between open and closed positions without having to overcome the effort required of rotating the drive motor.

  • Publication number: 20060102847
Abstract: A method and system are provided for real-time contaminant detection and plasma treatment verification during plasma treatment of bonding surfaces. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) is utilized to determine contamination of a bonding surface prior to the bonding process. OES is further utilized to monitor bonding sites on the bonding surface to verify effectiveness of the plasma treatment.

  • Patent number: 6575864
Abstract: A drive mechanism (14) for enabling driving and manual movement of a sliding side door (12). The assembly (14) has a track assembly (16) mounted to a vehicle body (10) at a predetermined height and a drive mechanism (18) mounted to the sliding side door (12) so as to be proximate to a door latching mechanism (19). The drive mechanism (18) has an input drive motor (22) driving an output gear assembly (24) engaging the track assembly (16) and a transmission gear assembly (23) with a sliding gear (50) which selectively couples the input drive motor (22) and an input gear assembly (23) to the output gear assembly (24) between an engaged position for driving movement or disengaged position for manual movement of the sliding side door (12). In this way, the slide side door (12) may be moved manually between open and closed positions without having to overcome the effort required of rotating the drive motor (22).

  • Patent number: 6375207
Abstract: A retractable running board assembly has a step, at least two support arms, at least two mounting brackets, at least two pairs of parallel links and a drive. The step has an elongated stepping surface extending generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of a vehicle on which the running board assembly is mounted. The support arms are mounted to the step. The mounting brackets are connected to an underside of the vehicle. The parallel links are pivotally connected between each of the support arms and the mounting brackets. The drive effects movement of the step between an extended outboard position and a retracted inboard position.

  • Patent number: 6321488
Abstract: A power sliding door assembly for a motor vehicle comprising a door structure constructed and arranged to be mounted on a motor vehicle for movement between closed and opened positions and a drive assembly mounted on the door structure. The drive assembly includes a rotatable gear engageable with a gear track provided on the vehicle. The rotatable gear is drivable in a one direction to effect movement of the door towards the opened position and drivable in an opposite direction to effect movement of the door structure towards the closed position. A drive shaft is coupled with the drive assembly and is constructed and arranged to rotatably drive the rotatable gear.

  • Patent number: 4218015
Abstract: A garden roller capable of storing and dispensing a large volume of liquid without immobilizing the roller, includes a hollow drum, preferably made of plastic and having a handle pivotally connected thereto for rolling the drum. A flexible conduit passes outwardly from the interior of the drum through a flow aperture in an end wall of the drum and a seal is provided to prevent escape of liquid through the aperture. Liquid can be dispensed through the conduit via a pump connected to the conduit outside the drum or by pressurizing the interior of the drum. The flexible conduit is weighted at its open end such that it remains adjacent the bottom of the drum enabling the entire contents therein to be dispensed.
