Patent number: 12621139Abstract: The technical solutions are directed to MAC address protection for frame integrity verification. A sender device can compute, using a temporal key (TK) programmed in hardware, a first key for a body of a frame and a second key for a header of the frame, different from the first key. The sender can encrypt the body of the frame at a machine access control (MAC) layer using the first key and the header of the frame at the MAC layer using the second key. The sender can compute a first MIC of the encrypted frame using the first key and a second MIC of a content of the header at the MAC layer using the second key. The sender can transmit the frame with the first MIC and the second MIC to a receiver configured to determine integrity of the header of the frame based on the second MIC.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2024Date of Patent: May 5, 2026Assignee: Avago Technologies International Sales Pte. Publication number: 20260107134Abstract: A wireless device supports roaming to a second access point if signal strength falls below a threshold or a connection is disrupted. The wireless device generates nonce values used for encryption and/or to protect against a replay attack. The nonce values a generated according to rules designed to minimize nonce reuse after roaming within a mobility domain. The wireless device may also be configured to generate encryption keys with a device of the mobility domain before a connection is established. The encryption keys are used after roaming to encrypt the earliest data frames sent after the roam.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2025Publication date: April 16, 2026Applicant: Avago Technologies International Sales Pte. Patent number: 12349116Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for conducting wireless communication are provided. One method includes identifying a location of a device and obtaining spectrum usage data from a database. The spectrum usage data indicates a licensed entity licensed within an area including the location of the device to communicate across a first sub-band of frequencies within a frequency band, and one or more transmission characteristics of the transmissions of the licensed entity. The method further includes determining beam steering characteristics for wireless transmissions of the device within the frequency band using the spectrum usage data. The beam steering characteristics are determined using the transmission characteristics for the licensed entity and configured to reduce interference with the transmissions of the licensed entity within the frequency band caused by the wireless transmissions of the device.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2023Date of Patent: July 1, 2025Assignee: Avago Technologies International Sales Pte. LimitedInventors: Vinko Erceg, Ron Porat, Thomas Derham, Matthew J. Fischer, Christopher David Szymanski

Patent number: 10645577Abstract: A ticket-based shared secret authentication is provided. A client device receives a ticket, and performs an authentication with an access point using the ticket. The access point deploys a first public key-private key pair to an intermediate device. The intermediate device and access point share a master secret to protect information in the ticket. The access point receives an association request from the client device that includes a nonce public key and a signature using a second public key-private key pair provided by the intermediate device. The access point authenticates the client device using the nonce public key. The access point sends an association response to the client device based on the authentication and a signature using the first public key-private key pair.
