    Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel proppant particle comprised of polyurethane resin. More specifically, these particles are of low density, yet have a sufficiently high compressive strength to be useful as proppants in downhole oil and gas operations. The present invention also relates to a method of using the proppant particle in downhole oil and gas operations including well completion and stimulation operations, for example hydraulic fracturing of subterranean formations.
