The methods are particularly useful for preparing, for example, coated stents having a biologically active agent within the coating.

Abstract: The present invention provides a stent for delivering drugs to a vessel in a body, including a stent framework with a plurality of micropore reservoirs formed therein using a femtosecond laser, a drug polymer positioned in the reservoirs, and a polymer layer positioned on the drug polymer. The present invention also provides a method of manufacturing a drug-polymer stent and a method of treating a vascular condition using the drug-polymer stent.
