  • Publication number: 20200294725
Abstract: An electrode element (1) for an energy storage unit (200), such as a capacitor, has an electrode body (100) made of an active electrode material (E), wherein the electrode body (100) includes one or more of: at least one cavity (110) on its surface or in its interior; at least one partial volume (120) of lower density; and/or a surface coating (D) covering at least a portion of the surface of the electrode body (100), such that the surface area covered by the surface coating (D) remains unwetted when in contact with an electrolyte. Energy storage units (200) incorporating the electrode element (1) are particularly suitable for use in implantable electrotherapeutic devices.

  • Publication number: 20070123940
Abstract: An implantable electrostimulation device having at least three input channels, (each forming a sensing channel), which are each connected to at least one electrode or to one terminal for an electrode, using which at least three different electrical potentials accompanying an excitation of cardiac tissue (myocardium) in a heart may be detected. Uses a signal processing unit which is connected to the input channels and is implemented to analyze the time curve of the potentials detected via the three sensing channels as three input signals in chronological relation to a periodically repeating trigger signal, which triggers a time window, and which is also implemented to detect predefined signal features for each of the three input signals within the time window triggered by the trigger signal, store them, and compare them to corresponding signal features of preceding time windows or of another input channel within the same time window.

  • Publication number: 20060047216
Abstract: A signal processing apparatus is disclosed comprising an input stage for the preparation of a physiological signal, in particular an electrocardiogram, which is adapted to provide a signal of an alternating polarity, which is formed from the physiological signal and which is to be evaluated, and is connected to an evaluation stage for forwarding of the signal to be evaluated, wherein the evaluation stage is adapted to respond to a reference moment in time associated with the physiological signal, and for at least one signal segment, associated in respect of time with the reference moment in time, of the signal to be evaluated, to detect a respective amplitude value for at least some characteristic curve points contained in the signal segment such as signal maxima and minima, inflection points and so forth and to generate from the amplitude values obtained in that way a morphology code which describes the form of the respective signal segment.

  • Patent number: 5198988
Abstract: A method of determining optimum operating potential in an electrochemical detector and an electrochemical detector for performing the method, particularly for use in connection with a liquid chromatograph, are disclosed. A control and data processing unit causes a plurality of different potentials to be successively applied in an electrochemical cell and a subsequent electrochemical detection of the sample to be performed at each of the potentials. After each adjustment of a new potential, the current behavior at the working electrode in the electrochemical cell is monitored by an amperometer. When the current behavior has stabilized, a trigger signal is produced by the unit which effects an injection of the sample into the separation column of the chromatograph. From the current signals at the working electrode obtained for the different potentials, it can be determined which potential gives optimum detectability of the sample.

  • Patent number: 5100530
Abstract: An electrochemical detector comprising an electrochemical cell (11), a working electrode (1), an auxiliary electrode (2), a reference electrode (3), a potentiostat (4), and a circuit (7,8) for deriving a signal indicative of the current developed at the working electrode additionally comprises means for monitoring and determining the potential of the reference electrode (3). These means comprise an electrometer circuit (9) which can be connected via a switch (S2) to the auxiliary electrode (2) to measure the potential of the reference electrode. During the measurement, the working electrode (1) is disconnected from the circuit (7,8) which is at the same time connected to the electrometer circuit (9) via switch (S1). The invention permits to recognize measuring errors associated with instabilities in the reference electrode potential (FIG. 1).
